Cheers cookie - good to know that, might have to knock up another pen and stick a couple of goats in. I'm not sure even the hardiest of sheep would do well on that land, until i reseed what the pigs dug up (thats the plan).

Wild Boar . . . . . . .feck that, keeping them enclosed is a bloody nightmare. We have them on the shoot and they are nowt but a headache! NL - Yer, i like goat, just dont know much about raising them With regard to labour intensity, i built the enclosure, put the pigs in, and just fed and watered them daily until i took them to the slaughter house, they were really easy to keep to be honest.

Never had much luck with them here Scott, don't know why? This year has been bad for the veg anyway, the sweet corn was a bit crap. The only thing that really did well, were the potatoes and the beans. Cookie - really? I've seen folk with them staked out? How much space do you think a goat would need? It would be ideal for me to be able to stick them out on chains in the 'jungle' rather than build a new enclosure, although it would be possible to stick them in some kind of shelter or shed at night.

You dont need a huge amount of land for pigs, and the best thing is that you can use land that no other f****r wants, which is how i got this land, it'd lain unused for about 15 years as it was so overgrown and rough. Decided over dinner that a couple of goats will probably be next, if anyone has any advice on them? Just for meat.

It's a nice beer mate, i got a 4 pack bought me the other day, one Hobgoblin, one Goliath, one Scarecrow and a Wychcraft, all by the same brewery and all very nice! R.E the fish - feck off Fish is for girls anyway I concentrate on the 'other' miricle, the wine one

Not very much really, these pigs were reared on some land i kind of aquired for free (so far), its about 2.5 hectres, although its basiclly an over grown, unfenced jungle. Well, apart from the paddock i built, that the pigs have now cleared and some areas i have smashed down for access, with the quad.

Cheers all! Bryson - if he is on his own and he makes a kill he can carry, he will bring it to me, if its something he can't carry, he will stay with it, until i find him. If there is another dog about, he will usually give it straight up to them, once its caught. Although he works off a long way, he will keep coming back and checking where you are and where you are heading, and shits himself if he thinks he has actually lost you. Interestingly, down here, where there are less rabbits about, if he runs one to ground, he will either wait there, or come back to see where i am and the

Your giving me idea's here Do you butcher them yourself.? No, i would like to, but i could only really joint it, not do all the neat bits, also i couldnt sell any one, if i wanted to. I know a butcher, so it goes to him, and costs feck all, and i can stand there and say what i want out of it.

Tomo - dont matter how much i eat, i never seem to put much on. At the moment, the pork is still a novelty . . . . .had sausage sandwichs every day for breakfast, and roast pork tonight, and i think chops tomorrow. Give it a month and i'm going to be sick of it haha! Thinking of doing a cow next?

Had a little bit of a walk today with the mrs and the pup. Thought i'd stick it here, even though she isn't a lurcher, until someone gives us a 'bushing dog' section

Didn't really get a chance to go out this weekend, as the mrs was down, but we went for a quick stroll in the woods behind the house yesterday, and i snuck chunk, one of my hobs into the bag. Bolted two for finn, and dug one 3/4 grown, unfortunatly bugger all photos as the camera died and my mrs isn't the best camera woman Better than nowt though. Looking forward to the season starting 'proper'.

Aye, thats pretty much it, you have to go to the dam as its like a seperate country, but its really commercial. I really like utrecht, and small towns like that, pretty much no tourists, cheaper smoke, and actual dutch people in the coffee shops. Also, just a nicer atmosphere, no stag groups, or watsed yanks etc. I do like belgium a lot, again, drugs are cheaper and better and from what i saw, the hookers were a lot hotter and less banged haha. And it has a good music scene.

Amsterdam is ok, but i prefer other places in holland, all the same perks, but a lot less dickhead brits and yanks.

Aye, some antis guessed he had terrier kit in there, so stole his vehicle, just to get to his terrier collars . . . . Most of them dont have the balls.
