I will agree with you it's not my style of hunting. As far as shot placement and an instant kill one must consider that never happens with archery tackle - That is not to say you cannot have a clean kill with archery tackle. Razor sharp broadheads kill through the process of hemoraging ( blood loss ) . Ethical shot placement is always a lung and heart shot on big game (except Elephant). Typically a lung/heart shot deer willl run and bleed out on the hoof.... By the way venison that has bled out is much more palatable then a deer that has flopped over at the shot full of blood . There are similar spots like that out in the forests and public lands of Arizona - Most of them are created by the New Ager Folks - They believe these spots are vortex's, a sort of spiritualistic whirlpool - This gall I know is into this crap - I have some pic's and I will post them if I can find them. Out here they make giant spiral circles out of rocks and they also do the alter things. CRAZY NUTTERS

Yes they are a subspecies of Whitetail - All of the record books have a classification for Coues...The bow that I was using then was a PSE Team Primos 50lbs to 70lbs 1990's MFG - I usually have my bows set at around 62lbs... Minimum draw weight for a hunting bow is 45lbs... It is not the draw weight that matters, it's how accurate you can shoot!

Finally got a scanner so I could scan some photos into digital here is a pic of my best Coues Deer I shot this in Sept 2004 the archery hunts start early so the bucks are still in velvet. I think the venison is much better from a velvet buck compared to a hard horned buck....

We noticed a sharp downturn in game levels when the heyday of illegals was in full swing - I know the Game and Fish have caught at least 3 poaching rings all staffed by illegals and selling the poached venison in Carnicerias (Latino Butcher shop) in the last few years...

There are three type of people that make the decision/vote on issues such as this. 1.Pro gun/Gun enthusiasts. 2.Anti gun wanker's. 3.People who are neither and uninformed and undecided... I don't know what the stat's are in the UK but in America the largest of the three groups is # 3. The uninformed and undecided. So this means that public education is one of the main key's to keeping our fire arms and other weapons....
