the hares are run through the coarse before they're run with greyhounds so they're not run on complete unfamiliar ground. theres no prize money in coarsin so you cant just say there in it for the money or else they wouldn't bother puttin in years of training & conditioning

its legal. the coarsing clubs have their reserves n tag their hares so you just dont want to upset them is all im nearly sure its illegal to hunt hares without muzzles..? that sounds right actualy? where would you find out for sure? Its nothing to do with upsetting coarsing clubs its the fact that someone going into a field and coarsing hares is illegal. Magwitch and I stop ferreting but have occasional forays out with the rifle and 4x4,to control rabbits in the orchards keeping the farmer sweet. Not enjoyable but necessary. There are those who run dogs all year round and say "Just giving the pups a run to build up their confidence ",etc. The same people ran through the foot and mouth ban , observe no close season,give no law ,and usually are running dogs out of the back of a van,being considerate and not disturbing the farmer by telling him they are coming. some speech . . .

apple orchard! bout 500yards from stream! wasnt sure what to do when i coped it but i could see it so had to do something! ferret is a bit shook bu this happend sunday and she seems fine, no open wounds or swelling, she got caught by da scruff

put ferret down, heard it scream and saw minks tail flick down different hole. Dog couldn’t reach it so I grabbed it and pulled it out! dog went cracked got it on the back and killed it mink weighed bout 4 pounds
