just been talking of such things at work a shire is a country area,a riding is a third(as in yorkshire west east and north riding dont know how it got a south riding) essex sussex middlesex etc are from saxon clans, and a thwaite is from forest clearings.

if i,m going ferreting i put a light quilt jacket on mine with the velcro straps it will pull off then if he gets stuck i also have some towels in the back of the car to give them a good rub down when i,ve finished.
we,ve had many dinner time discussions at work on this and other similar topics, the one way it could be turned round is to go back to having midweek general strikes, but having said that it,s probably too late due to us brits being a minority.
