    just looked into this , apparentley its blood paracites that infect the spleen and liver , a very common infection in canaries

    ive been and retrived the dead chicks as they were wrapped in tissue in the bin , and you were right fireman they had a black dot on there belly , i wonder what causes it

    wonder if anyone can shed any light on this , i have a pair of gold mosaics , had a clutch off them 4 eggs three chicks , she been sat on eggs again and hatched 3 out of 4 again , chicks were only days old when i found one dead in the nest , gutted !! then a day later found another dead in the nest , got one left , what do you think was the cause of the dead chicks ???????????????

    Well after a couple of weeks in with me red/black cock she has built her nest and layed her first egg this morning . I'm glad cos when I bought her at the auction the auctioneer was selling her as a cock
