Hey Ric, well i may be jumping the gun a little (pardon the pun) i just want to get some bits "sorted". I mainly want Lapua as its the dogs really (from what ive read), and should in theory last longer than others. As for shooting factory, i was thinking of getting some Prvi to start..... as it will be a 1/10 twist bullet weights should be in the 170-200 grains. So i would try PPU Prvi for around 50-60 squids per 100! Thats a cheap way to get range time just a heads up prvi 308 doesnt chamber in every rifle so dont buy 100 to start.Ive seen it in a brand new remy 700sps and a brand new

heres somthing to ponder on.most of the ferrets that end up rescued are of an age(not still blind)so were was the vetting process before and after the sale of the kit?this is a tricky subject with no satisfactory answer for all parties.most people just want rid of the surplus and to some selling is just a concience solver because they dont want to make any upsetting decisions.we have to be carfull where we draw lines or we run the risk of becoming like antis pushing our views down someone elses throat.to the original question;is it more humane?make your decision, deal with it solve your own con -
I will give you my simple answer.what I put into the dog when training.too many people think that this X or that X is a magic soloution and an easy option in place of training patience and work.thats not to say that this X or that X is better suited to spercific tasks(you wouldnt take a 1st X bull coursing).lurcher 2 lurcher usally make the best alrounders.

in its natural state nature would do the culling for you they wouldnt all survive.as I have said I find it unnessesary because of all the surpluss about means for most people there is no need to breed.culling is always going to go on in the world of working livestock its unavoidable in some cases which is why its so important to think before you breed.I dont like the practice dont practice it and dont preach to thoose that do.ferret rescues do a fine job but the fact that they exist tells me theres somthing amiss in the ferreting game.alot of the people Ive met that do cull have seen whats am -
they seem to do ok in 10/22 for some reason my sako dont like em and my mates cz452 doesnt.I use winchester sub sonics not had a single miss-fire in 15yrs.the question is where are all the eley?could it be somthing to do with the olympics?

try your rfd ask him to try edgar bros on your behalf if not try cheshire gunroom they wwill ask them for you.they do alot of gunsmithing for edgar bros so if anyone can get one they can but it would be synthetic not cammo -
probably have to look for 2nd hand rifle to come in on budget but would sugest a meopta artamis 7 X 50 scope wildcat mod, better scopes on the market but for the cash they take some beating.sako or tikka would be my rifle choice in .223

I dont breed to avoid waste and think its not something you'd not want to openly discuss.that said I dont condem thoose that do if done right.theres to much surplus livestock brought about buy breeding for the sake of it and you can bet alot of them dont live happy lives before they meet there untimley end.it can all be avoided if you think long and hard before you breed thats if you need to. -
coming from some of the dodgey dog peddlers you see in the buy sell swap section it means not broke to livestock!lol.dogs that are capable of taking pheasant, duck etc.welcome to the great game

try an army surplus shop and ask for para cord its the stuff you see ray mears tie between trees to hang a tarp over ive seen it for less than a tenner and it goes a long way.

best rabbit dog day and night time
sako trg replied to superkeeper's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
any whippet X in my opinion because on the short dashes you get on rabbits espicaly when ferretting(slipp'd the nets or missed a bolt hole)they get to top speed faster than a taller dog,a tall dog will take 3 or 4 strides to get up to top speed the same for a whippet X but due to its smaller size it hasn't cover'd as much ground.in the lamp they have better turning ability.but in truth any X will be upto both tasks its all down to how much work you put in,Im just a fan of the little fellas. -
sumat to do with gas lines I think

dont try to buy everything at once, get the essentials and build from there.after the enitial outlay its cheap better quality ammo all the way & very rewarding :thumbs:set yourself a budget of around £500
