  1. This is a pretty serious calibre and the rifle has a pretty serious price tag.... EEERRRRRR!!!!! What did you list on the FIR 101 that you wanted to shoot with it ..this is not a back garden plinker?? i do shoot at a club just not comp for my own gratification(the back-bittin upsets me,lol)& am lucky enough to have alot of uninterupted moorland to shoot over with exelent back stops and a 700metre disused quarry.of course I research the guns capabilitys before i bought it.just to realy start tounges waggin its on my FAC for target shooting and long range control of deer(& open
  2. I always set my rifles at 100yrd & always used red tip so cant comment on any others(if it aint broke dont fix it)but I always clean my rifles everytime Ive been out regardless of how many shots fired some will disagree with that statement but my guns always shoot as true as I fire them and its makes me feel better about them.be sure to break your barrel in properly if its brand new
  3. just got a sako trg 42 in 338 lap mag still in its box, would be gratefull for any advice from other owners(scope mounts loads) as this is a jump from what I would normally shoot(.223,6mmppc,6.5/55).Im not a comp shooter so you dont have to get too deep, but all advice welcome
  4. I personally use stright from the box rifles.if you can afford it and it makes you feel more confident in your shooting go for it.for live quarry such as foxes/rabbits Ive never seen one get up from a well placed shot that said Ive seen people who couldn't hit a lake if they were stood in it regardless of how much they spent on the rifle.
  5. had 1 on my rapid 7 was a good scope, never gave me any problems.
  6. during the manufacturing process tolerances are compromised to makethe gun affordable.blueprinting the action brings it back into line with the original intension of the original blueprint.for everyday purposes's an off the shelf rifle is more than accurate, but to the precision shooters out there its uniform constant & perfect or it's just wrong.
