  1. Pass through it on the way to Trearddur bay where you'll have a lovely time
  2. Mine did. I told him I couldn't tell him but they would be safe and far away from the gun safe out of reach of anyone. If they ask it is likely a test so don't tell them the actual location. They aren't the enemy but I felt mine was definately asking probing questions about safety and security.
  3. Doesn't really matter as long as you don't tell anyone. Just say you have two separate places for them and that they would be hard to find and that no one else will know where they are. Technically you shouldn't even tell the FAO where they will be kept. ATB
  4. This will set you out from the crowd...I'd love to turn up to a clay ground with one
  5. OK here's a short vid of where we are up to. Sorry about the crap quality but you'll get the idea. He wasn't really on form today, no idea why but he just didn't seem too enthusiastic. We managed a few decent retrieves all with stop whistle in between and I got him redirected on to a dummy which I place half way up the court and on the left though I didn't get that on video and then he started acting up. Any comments welcome http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHmrqwfS_D0

No but Windows XP and Windows 7 both have their own firewall built in. What's the reason you want external software for this job? Also your router will probably have a hard firewall as well. For what it's worth I use Kaspersky which has firewall and anti virus, it is concidered to be one of the best. Avoid anything Mcaffee in my experience it is crap.
  7. Right or wrong our politicians fear that we will become a less powerful country with less political clout on the world stage if we shrink back from these conflicts. By the way did you know that we are the third highest spender on the military in the world...even above Russia! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_military_expenditures
  8. Yep I think those countries in the cold can smell weakness and are starting to push the boundaries. They know Europe can't afford it and that Obama is as weak as a Kitten.
  9. Probably a wind up but it makes me giggle like a kid everytime I look at it
  10. Lot of sabre rattling been going on recently. Iran, Falklands, North Korea. Then there's all the civil wars that have been going on in the Arab countries. On the subject of Iran, the one country that used to keep a balance of power in the region was Iraq....Think we did the Iranians a big favour there.

  12. I did for a while recently but as I'm working shifts at the moment I can't get the time to do the classes. As we train in a tennis court I take the oportunity to walk him up the fense when people walk past with their shitty park dogs...it's good for Ollie but probably driven those people nuts as their dogs start pulling them and barking etc . I can walk him off the lead near dogs that are under control because of the e-collar conditioning but he is just so distracted. I think he just needs more exposure to them in a safe environment. This is part of my problem like a tw*t I let him 'play'
  13. Just out of interest what did you breed them for? Showing or food? Gutted
  14. What you've said shows why they aren't necessarily old wife's tales but common sense, call it an old fashioned health and safety policy.
  15. What about joining a rifle club? At least you wont have to worry about losing you permission one day? There's definitely one near Oswestry in Shropshire, not sure if that's close.
  16. Cheers One of my problems is that if there is another dog anywhere nearby he is totally distracted. I think it's more self preservation that anything because he wont take his eyes off them. Not entirely sure what I can do about this. The other thing is moving on to retrieves on grass etc. I assume I should avoid deeper cover until he will retrieve on a field with fairly short grass otherwise he'll just be off on his merry little sniffing expedition. He is a real handful anywhere there are scents of other dogs. I'm trying to find someone who has a paddock they aren't using for the s
  17. There was a race attack on a white lad in Denton/Hyde as well. This time they caught the scum but apparently there were retaliations
  18. OK LOL...convicted of drunk driving
  19. Cheers guys Remi I might try that, I wonder if that is partly why he gets bored because every command ends in a retrieve. Another trick I do to get him motivated is to recall him on his way out so he doesn't get the retreive. Usually when he comes in and I send him out the second time he goes like a rocket. So far most of the retrieves are to the dummies which have been pointed out to him, I don't know what you call it but I drop the dummies and then walk him away from them, then I set him up and then send him for them using the 'back' command. Half the time I stop him mid way and
  20. There is no condition for it but where I live they like it if you can get a lesson or two at a clay ground and have done the safety stuff. Our FLO asks a good few questions to satisfy his self that you are aware of the dangers to yourself and others. He would ask questions like what you would do if you had a misfire etc. In principle it's a good thing but the problem is the clay grounds can charge a fair bit for this if they're of the money grabbing variety.
  21. I've put a couple up before so if anyone read them they would know I was having a hell of a struggle with my Labrador Ollie. I'd been to several trainers and the last one had told me not to bother with him anymore. Recall was virtually none existent and he just wasn't interested in anything other than sniffing and doing his own thing. Clearly this was all my own doing and resulted from mistakes and bad advice when he was younger but anyway enough of dwelling on the past. I found a new trainer near to me and after a couple of sessions we discussed using an e-collar. I spent several weeks wo
