    I'm sort of getting there slowly, trouble is I'm so used to spinning and love it, it's completely different, luckily my mate who's teaching me is a good fly fisher with plenty of patients. Cheers Bob

    Thanks for your replies, the reason I ask if it was mistle or song, it was huge, the biggest thrush I've ever seen, attached is a photo of a thrush in the same place the previous winter, cheers Bob.

    Cheers Cragman, for the good advice, it would be used mostly whilst lamping and I feel the .22-250 is just too much for this place in the dark, I will be using home loads so can experiment with recipe's. Thanks again Bob.
