  1. You need to let this dog settle into the house and your routine. Keep a very close eye on him and set yourself up to succeed. Don't put the dog in any situation where you have to trust it, because he will, more than likely, let you down and you will be to blame. Decide as a family what the limits are to be and all stick to them so the dog is not being set up to fail. There will be the obvious mistakes and if the dog is permanently on kill-mode, then you have to be extra vigilant. Get the dog listening to you on a one to one basis. No distractions and use rewards, either food or pra
  2. I am no expert but this is what I usually do:- I use Photoshop CS btw. Image>Adjustments>Levels - moved middle triangle marker (found under the box) to the right to make whole pic darker. Image>Adjustments>Curves - moved line to resemble a very vague S laid nearly out flat (does that make sense) - so upped right side and downed left side very slightly. You can always experiment before you press OK! Then using Eliptical Marquee Tool (found in tool box), I highlighted the eye and made that darker (using Levels again). Tried the Sharpen Filter (Filter>Sharpen)
  3. Have you got Photoshop? That is good for working on photos and bringing the light down. I took one of your photos and had a quick play and this is the result.
  4. Leftover veg, food, whatever mixed with tin of sardines or pilchards or raw beef mince or cooked lamb from the freezer, whatever is about that needs finishing. Raw egg sometimes too. Pasta, tatties, whatever.
  5. Mine are used probably % road and 20% off-road and they are great. I've had mine on for over 2 years now and they are good strong tyres. Worth every penny. Couldn't recommend a better tyre.
  6. Nice Landy. I have BF Goodrich A/T's and they do the job fine for me but I am in peaty soil so no clay. Diff makes all the difference when it works too! Got me out of many scrapes.
  7. Not sure what the diagnosis or prognosis for the dog is, at the moment. The raised ALT indicates something is going on with the liver. The vet wanted to monitor him for a month and has put him on hepatacyl (pills that increase liver function) and see what like. They will retake bloods again then too. He is on hepatic diet food and is happy on that. I want to try and keep the weight on. 2.5kg in two months is abit much and as a thin dog, there is not much to spare.

  9. We use it for sweetitch on our Icelandic gelding and it works well. He also has a Boate rug for the really bad days.
  10. I've used the Bioflow stuff on myself (bracelet), my dog (collar) and my old nanny goat! (collar) Worked very well on all of us, I thought at the time ,but then when I lost my bracelet, I still felt the same. So my jury is still out. Expensive but certainly something I would try again. I know some folk swear by it! Good luck - let us know how you get on. Pignut
  11. Update - been to see vet who examined him and took bloods. On examination, the vet could feel nothing but the blood tests have shown a raised ALT (200). He has lost 2.5kg in 2 months. He will have another blood test in a month and will start hepatocyl. We will see what happens. He seems alright in himself and caught a bunny this afternoon on a walk. He is playing and interacting with the others. Don't really know what else to do.
  12. Sadly not going anywhere - we're snowed in!!! Vet will have to wait. The roads have all seemed to vanish!
  13. Thanks for your thoughts. Appreciated. Note for Monday - to make an appointment to see vet. I will be gutted if it is the dreaded c-word. I've had him since a pup (my marriage lasted less time!). He is a good friend. Anywho cheers Pignut

  21. Bugger. Sadly no greyhound lads around here - so off to vet on Tuesday morning. I think this is the start of something bigger, actually. He is not himself really - off in a dwaam (Shetland for dreaming). He just stands up and looks vaguely into the distance and then doesn't know why he is there - a bit like when you walk into a room for something and then forget what it was! I can't put my finger on it, but he is not himself at all. Maybe old age is catching up on him. Most of his litter mates are dead (not a long living lot) and he is 12. Maybe the vet will have an answer. P
