  1. i had a dog was the same he would run them just not pick them up then took him out with other dogs then he just learnt himself really then he turned out to be a good dog my mate give it up at 14 month old because he give up but i do have alot of patience thats all you can give it
  2. i dont think a 1st x collie grey would be that good for a beginer too clever imo deerhound grey collie grey good allrounder
  3. i would give the dog a few easy kills then work from there even if your not sure because if he takes it out and it only gets one run in a night then that can make it worse if it is still only young it starts off with being to keane
  4. the only way is to see when it grows up and it doesn't need a big head to do the job they adapt to work with what they got dont give up just yet i once made that mistake and what a dog that turned out to be bit legy but could still get there
  5. i had a greyhound that did r h d but never tried it with owt that bites back i was sat down in graveyard making a fag on way back from a nights lamping it was just coming light when i sin a fox walking down slipped the bitch and it bolted down towards the fox then the fox just turned face to face with it had a smell of each other and went there seperate ways
  6. it might make 23 inch but some pups have spurts the only way to know is measure it when it bout 12 month
  7. i have a mate who has a 1st x and his aint that fast in a straight line after a rabbit good ferreter good busha can catch rabbits but just aint that fast so he put a whippet over her but there still only pups yet so dont know how they will fair but not my cup of tea as i like a good all rounder
  8. Your right about them takin longer to mature i have a bull grey deer grey he is 14 month and still not quite mature yet he hasn't quite found his feet yet but getting there
  9. well i use 3 months with drontal every month and a half inbetween the advocate! never have any problems
  10. they are good dogs never seen a bad en but dont see em about much now but very calm dogs then fiery when need be plenty of stamina and can nail rabbits for big dogs very loyal as well
  11. best way to bulk up a dog feed it a little extra with very little exercise then start with a little bit of exercise then add to it each day then cut dogs food down till its at the condition you want it at then feed it to keep it there
  12. not bad that advocate but it dont kill tape worms but it does mange and once every three month you are meant to use it
  13. nice dogs pal how many pups they had
  14. is that for both jabs or are they both in one vet charges 15 each
  15. why is rey an anti use your heads guys and dont come all this shit about the law i would of relocated myself but i am a sportsman and for not putting pictures up i cant do it cos i use my phone oh no does that mean i am an anti and you cant shoot a fox in a back garden on a street and and dont think you can dig it with a terrier because you aint allowed to set a dog on anything what lives in a town
  16. i have never had a problem with taking a pup out with a big dog or another pup you will be able to call it off at that age if it does try thats what i would just do you cant stock break a dog on the lead alone you need to let it off and resist them off the lead thats just how i do it but good luck whatever you end up doing at least your putting the time in young some people just take them out when they get to about 9 month when it is alot harder train thats one reason dogs get passed about
  17. cheers twotone you just cleared that up why dont people get the facts before arguin the toss over a minor detail good post ftb but also for the record i dont think yipp was actually tryin to argue he did actually say that but eh come on kids fall out
  18. what do you mean like puttin a big patterdale over a small one or would you yourself put another of the same type or are we talking putting a patterdale over a jack sorry just didn't really understand the question but what i did understand was that working ability should count more than looks just like you wouldn't put a really good worker(real ugly) into a show just for show dogs would you now people care to much about looks now than actual work ability
  19. no i wouldn't let them fight over it. weather bull blooded or not you gotta show em your the boss my dogs would kill one another if i let them you dont want a dog aggressive dog and just out of interest what are the two dogs you have got there
  20. good going that fella and a good read as well
  21. i have got a bull grey sal grey x bull grey very game dog and very loyal good allrounders i say
  22. i am gonna go for a wander it seems like it will be a good night but i would be lucky to see 3 fox in a night round here never mind get 5 think i am going to have to move have a good night who ever goes out
  23. sick of it! would of well had that if things were different. thats cheap at that pal. sure it will go in no time
  24. well if you think like that about breaking a leg you probably wouldn't buy anydog cos whatever you pay its a loss but you dont worry about a dog breaking its leg the first time you take it out it might happen but whats the odds of that happening i myself wouldn't pay that for an untested dog but i only use measly lamping dogs but i would pay more than 150 for a good lamping dog and have done but i cant see the point in all the slagging off on here its what the site is known for really if you aint got nothing nice to say then dont say owt simples!!!
