  1. Gwent allows HMR for vermin control and 'Short Range Fox' although you will not get 'Fox' on your ticket LOL
  2. I like the Simmons WTC scopes, I just picked up a 2-10x44 off Ebay for £70, a cracking little scope, more than enough for a HMR, Had 43 rabbit with it already in a couple of weeks
  3. Gwent are a total waste of time, full of contradictions and as harsh as! Took 3 months for a variation to come back, didn't get what I wanted and had a warning letter back with it about paperwork errors. Absolute Joke!!
  4. Exactly and the last thing we need to be putting out is that we are a bunch of uncaring individuals who lack knowledge on what tool for what job!
  5. Obviously at a decent range and in the right spot HMR or 22 will take care of fox BUT neither of these are designated Fox calibers and I think this should always be taken into consideration. I think anyone who thinks Rimfire is more than enough to bowl foxes over easily at 100 plus yards are deceiving themselves LOL. Was in a gun shop the other day and some idiot was talking about how many foxes his mate had taken out with his HMR the longest shot being 170 yards, Yeah right!!!
  6. I'll be there Sunday, never been before, What's it like? DAVE
  7. Bought 2 boxes of Hornadys recently from Litts in newport, in both boxes after I shot about 5 rounds had misfires where the powder was damp. Head of rounds were jammed in the barrel which peed me off more tha anything as it meant nights shooting was over!! Replaced with Federal Premium V Shox, lovely rounds had 15 rabbits in about 16 shots
  8. I had a Sak, was ok, nice and cheap LOL, NOW have an LEI a lot more expensive but well worth it

  10. Just got my ticket back and want to purchase me a new HMR. Was planning on getting a new CZ Style as I loved my old one (Great guns once trigger is sorted) probably cost around 400sh, but a guy I know is selling a Ruger laminate with Stainless barrel, mint nic for the same price. What you guys reckon? Apparently the Ruger has been shortened and had the trigger done. Thanks guys
  11. Nice one. Where are you in Gwent man? I'm in Pontypool
  12. Called them earlier, they have two guys off sick and as of yet havent even looked at it, He said he could make no promises what so ever but would try and find it on the pile!
  13. RSPH is essential but even more essential is experience of the Job, man many varieties of pests and many many different situations, I would suggest anyone would need at least a minimum of 6 months hands on training as there's so many situations you will find yourself in. I was with a great guy for a few months but once I launched out on my own I found myself in situations which I didn't have a clue what to do LOL. One thing being qualified, it's another being Really qualified LOL
  14. I just put in for a variation on my ticket from 223 to 22-250 and asked if I can have it now opened I'm with Gwent, out the form in 3 weeks ago and still waiting. How long these things taking these days? Thanks Guys
