    is this an english thing with closed tickets up here in Scotland we have open tickets, shoot where you have permission as long as its safe for your calibre, correct me if i am wrong Scottish FAC holders no its a welsh thing to rang my department last week and thay advised me to wait three years till thay granted me an open tickett that sucks I'm in Gwent I spoke with my FEO last week and was told they have an 18 month mandatory wait to be granted open tickets, they gave me a variation for 223 after 3 months but no chance of opening up my HMR till another year DAVE

    Just recieved my HMR ticket from Gwent, took about 10 weeks not bad really as at one time there was a 9 month list. I had 2 interview one lasting two hours and one 30 minutes, the guy was very very thorough but seemed a real nice guy and proved to be very helpful further down the road when after he had approved my application the woman at the office took almost 3 weeks to rubber stamp it Overall quite pleased although I was talked down from having 3 calibre's on my application to one with a promise of another if I went back in January..DAVE

    Had a message left me by my FEO today saying that the Ticket was posted yesterday Hopefully will get it in the morning, by Tea Time I should be the owner of a nice new CZ Style..DAVE

    Hey Guys was just wondering how old you leave it before you let your Terrier Pups have a go at its first live quarry? My friend traps a lot of live Squirrel and Rat so won't be a problem getting hold of quarry just wondering on what age is sort of right to introduce and which waty you go about it? Obviously it may vary between pups depending on certain criteria but is there a rough age? Thanks guys DAVE

    Seems that most are saying to just leave it and ride it out. My FEO said he couldn't understand it and to write a letter of complaint, I'm wondering if maybe certain guys who work in my Area want a shake up in the Dept? Think I'll leave it another week and see how it goes, dare say If nothing by Friday I'll be banging in a stern letter to the Chief Constable..DAVE

    Had a gutsfull now, Was told two weeks ago by my FEO that application was approved and that I should have it within 3 days, 3 days later no ticket so I called the dept and was told by a shirty lady with a real attitude that 'I would be lucky to have it by the end of the week!' That was last week, still no ticket so just called again and the same Lady said she had recieved my file from the FEO and it was on her pile and that I should have it by the end of NEXT week! I told her that she said that two weeks ago and that I was very dissapointed. Forgot to mention that I rang the FEO yesterday and

    In Gwent Dude you would of bit his hand off for anything, I just put in for mine and wanted 17 Hmr and 22 Rimmie and was told I could only have one even though I had explained in great detail how both calibres were totally diffret and both were needed in their own right. Think I'll move to Oxford

    What approach did you use mate with the farmers? Other thing what needs to be done after you have picked up the farm with regards to passing it via the Firearms guys? I've just been granted HMR and will be looking for new farms next week, I have a closed ticket and am wondering what I need to do after farmer says Yep you can come on here..Thanks man DAVE

    Hey Guys, I'm glad to be on here and am loving the site. I've enjoyed Air Guns and pest control for about 20 years now and owned a pest control company for a few years, I recently put in fort my FAC and have the interview on Sep 14th, have applied for 22 airgun 22 Rimmie and 17 HMR, can't wait. I just got a Border Pup, new stuff for me as I had lurchers for years. Hope to connect with some of you guys on here DAVE
