Ive noticed noone has mentioned magnification?? The higher the magnification the more stable youd need to be, I shoot on x10 mag during the day and x6 at night, however I use a Lightstream FFP scope so my aimpoints dont change Darryl

Cheers Steve.... I've still been about just not really had anything to comment on mate, although it's great to see new names etc, posts have been a bit repetitive, I've gave up on most of the other forums altogether as 90% of them people are "always right" and get the hump when they're proven wrong. I get most of the banter from the various Facebook groups and have personally met and shot with a good few guys through those too.... But anyway I'm still here and will always help out where I can!! I don't normally "tune" other people's rifles but I've done a couple for Jimmy namely his 97kt but more famously the "Crowsport" and he has been more than pleased with the results which could be why I got a message from him asking if I could do anything with a .22 BSA Lightning. When he brought it it was rough cocking, twanged, recoiled and only doing an inconsistent 6-8ftlbs with a trigger that Arni himself would have had trouble with. I immediately thought the spring had snapped or there was damage to the piston seal but on getting it apart it was like a new rifle inside. Anyway I s

Stripping & Tuning Hw97Kt Blackline
Marksman replied to Marksman's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Darryl your a truck driver not a professional gunsmith you don't have what it takes to 'tune' an air rifle! Your 'tune' only took an hour on camera and basic tools so your results a far to good to be true!! On a more serious note iv learnt things about the hw97kt I didn't know so from me it's a great set of videos showing lads who maybe can't afford a 'professional tune' how to make their rifles that little bit sweeter. Another thing is if you ever fancy a go using custom spring guilds and top hat give me a shout I know a couple of toolrooms which we use at work and have TIG welded for m -
Any samples of the quality please mate??

i am not having a go buddy, just stating a difference I know that mate, sorry if it sounded that way...you know me by now Im not intentionally calling other "Pro Tuners" for what they do/charge for either.... Just with it being quite common place nowadays, Im just interested in what people would recognise as a tune -
I had one on my ticket but then stuck a variation in for another .22lr simply due to the fact there arent any good secondhand ones about & it was gonna take me a while to save up for a new one cos I keep buying other stuff Would love to own one one day. I had mine on ticket for vermin inc foxes too btw Darryl

Stripping & Tuning Hw97Kt Blackline
Marksman replied to Marksman's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
No lathe work involved as I don't own a lathe I'd bet that this one would shoot just as sweet as a "tuned" one Ok, so while were on the subject, what constitutes a tune?? Is it called a tune simply because it's done by sorme well known people I know some make their own piston seals hence the lathe work etc but it's as I said in the video, it's the way I do things, it works and happy with the results. It would be interesting to see one of "my rifles" up against others from other well known industry guys just to see how well it does. Darryl -

Marksman replied to Marksman's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Good stuff mate! Not sure about other "tuners" but I imagine they will all have their own trait. I'll continue to do what works for me though and I think the chrono test proves it works Darryl -

I never have it a thought, but now that you mention it mate I did clean off some white residue from the threads of the trigger housing.... Hmmm Will have to watch out for that on the next one As for shooting well mate it has a 2fps spread over the chrono.... ;-) https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=822B79401FF1416F!248&authkey=!AMsFN155iv74T-M&ithint=video%2c.mp4 Darryl
