  1. Hmmmmmm, my longest confirmed kill with a CF is 428yrds.... would you actually be able to shoot a rabbit at that range with a .22lr? hahahahaha A .22lr has its place..... but not for long range
  2. I'm running a IOR 6-24x50 on my .308 & a Nightforce 5.5-22x50 on my .204, to be honest i think they are both great scopes
  3. Horses for courses and all that carp Personally.... If your shooting with rifle.. a good quality rangefinder is a essential part of the kit.. If your serious about shooting & want to be able to use your chosen set-up to its full potential. All you need to do then is to put your bullet/load of choice over a chronograph and work out your average FPS, then input all the relevant information into a ballistics calculator (i use one on my i-phone) that coupled with a range finder you can then "dial" shots. At any range that you are comfortable to shoot at, if it 100yrds to 1000yrds
  4. what seems to help me is if i hold the camera or phone in me bum cheeks and stand on me head the pictures come out the wright size hope this helps atb chrissy once again old boy you are a minefield of usefull tips, your pool of knowledge runs very deep.i shal try that at once register with a site like photobucket.com, they will "host" your pictures, you can then post like this
  5. If its gonna be a heavy gun, look at the Niggeloh Backpack sling, they are excellent Also this place has them listed cheaply... http://www.fishingmegastore.com/niggeloh-backpack-sling~gfs_NIGBackpacksling.html
  6. What Calibre is it? Also i didnt know that Accuracy International manufactured DBM systems, unless you bought a AICS that comes with the bottom metal...i know that their magazines fit many aftermarket DBM systems...Badger, SYSS, GBR etc. But im not sure about Tikka fitment?
  7. Personally, i wouldnt bother with a progressive press. Get a basic but good single stage press by RCBS or Redding As i said, personally
  8. Sorry to Jump in.... to be honest mate it will keep you going for thousands of rounds. Be sure to look after it tho, as that will pro long the barrel life & the .204 dosnt like it dirrrty Also if you dont already, look into hand loading for it.

  10. Well yes and no, the main reason was the fact that i neglected to have a proper cleaning regime, that resulted in pitting of the factory barrel. So if any are reading this that never bother to clean a barrel properly, you have been warned. as you can see it shoots ok.... this was a 5 shot group at 100yrds with the excellent 39grn Sierra BK's
  11. Ive got a .204.... Remmy 700 that had a new barrel put on by RifleCraft. Couldnt be happier, 26" 1/10 varmint profile Shoots like a wet dream!
  12. The reason i said about the hand loading is because some .204's can be very fussy, although i think that federal now make factory rounds with the superb 39grn Sierra Blitz Kings.
  13. I know that rimfire magic do a DM conversion for 700's that use AI mags, might be worth a call. Mine is on a AICS and uses the .223 mags
  14. Will you start hand loading? if so the .204 would be a good choice. If not go for the .223, purely because there would be more choice in factory ammo. As for rifle choice you wont really go wrong with any of the big boys, Tikka, Remington, Ruger etc ive got a custom .204ruger and love it Its on a Rem 700 Action The Tikka supervarmints are nice guns.
  15. Ive got one, what a bargain! I use it on my .308win and my .204 ruger. For the money you cant beat it, James is a great bloke to deal with. As you say, to change the threads takes no time at all, its fully stripable and well made. I couldnt recommend more sounds good to me, i will buy another mod at the start of next year as i am heading back over to WMS and i dont want to have to change moderators between rifles while shooting on the range. What price did you pay for yours. keith Pretty sure it was £175 + delivery
