I'm no expert but I think the biggest worry is if mixy mutates to heavily leaving any resistance gained almost useless!

Tonight my dog caught and retrieved his first rabbit! but wouldn't give up his prise! I ignored this and let him carry it for a while then took it off him gave him a treat for giving it up then gave it back to him to carry a bit more and when he put it down i picked it up and bagged it although he wanted it back! Did i do right or should i of handled it differently? and is it something he will grow out of or do i need to be more forceful? As i don't want to put him off retrieving!

Me and a couple of friends have tryed a few lamps and most seam to light up the whole field! One friend has an old blue eye lamp from deben and its the only one that comes close and was just wondering what other people use!

This is the first year i'v had to borrow a friends but they seam to keep in better condition if left in with the hob not having to wait a week or so for him to get it back from another friend! Plus i've noticed that if they live together year round they tend to rag the jills round less and just do the job as they come in to season!

I was led to beleive there testicles retract back into there body over winter and if thats so it might add extra complications to the operation making it impractical!

Had a woman ask me once if i knew what my bullet did to a rabbit i was using an air rifle but humered her and gave her a very descriptive insight to what it did! when she realised i know a lot more about it and explained that the bold 30 ish square meteres she was standing on was due to the rabbits she seamed to understand the reasons for it! Perhaps yesterday she was told the same thing by someone else only to see it running through the stock 10 minutes later! Been on both sides of the argument bin caught places i shouldn't be and rollocked! But also had an uncle nearly trampled by a stampede while fixing some fencing!Caused by a dog that he was told was fine with stock then when the woman came over he had a go at her only to be told "keep your hair on he(the dog) was only playing with them" !!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to everyone for there help and advise i have just made my first shaped net! and will make a few more and give them a test to see if they work for me! Now if i wanted to make a few 3 ft ones for tight spots in hedges would i make fewer rows of 18 meshes in the middle or start with more meshes as in going perhaps 14 meshes out to 18 meshes than back into 14? Thanks again everybody for all the help!

A friend of mine used to keep accurate records of his dogs and although he didn't run them through there season his bitches picked up 90 percent of there injury's within the 2-3 week of the end of the season so now he gives them light exercise for a month after! But he has more than one so can afford the rest period

Hi there seeing some of the action shots that some members put up makes me want to try! But was wondering how much i would need to spend to get a workable set up that i wont have to replace to soon! Also some suggestions as to set ups being a complete novice!

Hi there I've recently bought a second hand mk3 locater and testing it holding it upright the depth light seam to be locating to the top of the locater not the bottom point as i would of expected. Is this usual or are the internal settings slightly off?

Thanks for all the help and i think i understand now! and will try one! so a typical pattern might be 10,10,12,12,14,14,16,16,18,18,18,18,18,16,16,14,14,12,12,10,10 ? As the way i start a net is to do 2 full rows of net in a line then collect them together to make the first 2 rows and then fasten them round a guide rope tension holder for one end!

Sounds so easy seeing it written down but couldn't work it out lol! so what are the advantages/disadvantages to shaped nets?
