  1. Trigger out of the factory is heavy. I guess 5lbs. But easy to adjust and I think it will go down to about 3.1/2 lbs. I haven't done mine yet. I haven't had much time with mine other than to zero it. at 100 yards it was bullseyes all the way. but then that is what I would expect.
  2. Feel the weight of the syntetic Browning and then compare against a CZ. much much lighter. I'm not biased but I do have a Browning.
  3. I did a lot of reading up last night on various websites. The A bolt is cheaper than the X bolt but the X bolt is definitely the better rifle (according to my gun dealer mate. And yes I do trust his opinion as he was trying to sell me an A bolt). Like everything it comes down to budget and if it will do what you want it to do. If you find the right ammo for it I believe that it is a fine rifle. Mind you. I don't have any practical experience so it is only my opinion based on what I have read from the different sites. As I said before I was trying to decide between the two for myself. I decid
  4. Chatting to a mate of mine today who was getting really really p****d off as he couldn't get his to group at all. He tried about 5 or 6 different types of quality ammo. He then bunged some cheap nasty stuff. I think it was 90 grain and it grouped perfectly. He seems to think that it is a more fickle rifle when it comes ammo. Very ammo sensitive. I was thinking about buying one as well but after looking into it I decided that I am going to go for an X bolt which I hope is not going to be quite as sensitive as his.
  5. Not unless your using night vision
  6. I would be interested in knowing comments about this as well as I have been offered one at a good price from a dealer.
  7. Can you post? I have yet to figure out how to sent pms on this site.
  8. To add my twopence worth. I have just done the DSC1 with Donington Deer Management. (Not that I am biased in any way but I have know David and Mark for many years and for no other reason it was worth doing it dor Doris's cooking) Now I have never shot a deer in my life but have been shooting Shotgun and Air rifles for many years going back to a .22 rimfire 25 years ago. So I have some experience of shooting in general. I decided that I need to learn as much as possible before going for my FAC. Excluding the cost of DSC1 I found it to be very informative and I learned a hell of a lot. I was a b
  9. Yup, went there last year and half the stands were shut or gone home. Far too expensive for what it is. I won't go again, which is a shame as it is local to me.
  10. Anyway on a more serious note. I have had a bit of a set back. Farmer I went to see is happy for me to walk certain boundaries but not others as he already has someone else covering the land who has been doing it for years and he doesn't want to upset the applecart. Can't blame him for that. The boundaries he is letting me use give me access to the the larger houses where I shoot but they are air rifle only and not suitable for anything else. Ya never know somebody might need their land clearing and he will remember me. I do have a ground that some friends use and that is coming up for re
  11. lol, thats a good one Obviously not checked out the price of wool lately and as for needles, well you just can't get the quality.
  12. Lots of interesting comments, and most mainly on topic. I am off to see the nice man in the shop tomorrow to have a look at what he has for sale. Plenty of things to think of. Mind you I am quite old school in that I like to walk the land rather than drive across it. But I am always open to changing my opinion as I get more land and need to cover greater distances to keep the bunnies down. I am not keen on hitting foxes with either a .17 or .22. I will leave that for larger calibre. Again only a personal opinion. Now what about larger caliber and NV.......... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
  13. I am sure that this has probably been covered before but if so I cant find it. So, I am going for my FAC soon. I do a lot of bunny bashing and it all goes into the pot. Therefore I don't want 22 250 or any automatic skinning/mince making devices. So years (Twenty "cough" years)ago I had a .22 Ansultz long barrel semi, which did jam if I put to many bullets in the mag. Solution, put 2 less bullets in the mag. Anyway fond memories. However I used to shoot out to 75 yards with it as the sight was zeroed at 25 and 75 yards. Bloody good gun. Now I have a HW 100 .17 Weirarch airgun (however it i
  14. Ok I've finished the book. Its well good. Go buy it.
  15. That is something that I never understood either. I lived on the Canary Islands and had a place there to take people out to invisible points in the sea, let them hop in the water with 20 meter vis for 40 minutes with 15 minutes at the bottom seeing something that is easier to see in a aquarium, then getting back to the hotel at silly o'clock completely zonked out and paying me for doing just that ATB Michael Might have been me. I have gone out of Lanzagrotty mainly shore dives and Tenegrief all rib. did think of becoming a dive instructor then decided that I couldn't afford the
  16. I'm looking for insurance now. Tom, How are you getting on with your talks? Any luck?

  18. Everytime I log on the settings look like this hfprob.bmp I'm hoping this uploads. In case it doesnt' I can see one post then I have to click on every subsequent post. I can't scroll down to view the next one. Any ideas what I am doing wrong.
  19. Or maybe .177 shooters aren't good enough to compensate for the different arc..
  20. But I do have a question that has been bugging me all evening. Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground? Probably for the same reason that some people who are incredible stupid get up at silly o clock to go down to the coast, spend an hour motoring out to an invisible point in the sea, hop in the water with 1 meter vis for 40 minutes with 15 minutes on the bottom trying to see something that is easier to see in a flippin museum. then end up getting home at even sillier o clock completely zonked out. Hurrah for nex
  21. Shes got a nice girlie bike too! Well must be hers cos no bloke would ride one............................... :D :D

    I had a 410 .22 then got a .17. Much much better IMHO. Wouldn't go back to .22
  23. people only shoot .22 cos they havent been introduced to how much better a .17 is. And .22 shooters are all girlies anyway :tongue4: :tongue4:
