    at the end of the day if they can do it will it be worth it not just the cost but also the amount of time it will take for the dog to fully recover and the pain it will cause the dog at the end of the day its dogs quality of life you should be thinkin of and then its not guarenteed to work causing the dog more pain, i hope it does work out , i had an exellent bitch which had the same problem and i tryed allsorts of treatments but in the end i had to pts

    i dont think its a inherreted thing as most dogs will do it if they need to cool down, some just like to do it in style, one mine of used to jump into stone troughs and lay there chillin

    all of this over some wire each to his own. i used to use wire taken from old houses and the eyes from shoes, to make make a free running snare , but each person has there own method on making snares and the material they want to use
