Not everyone does because not everyone can, the world would cease to function if everyone was a boss.

Again, totally agree. But Jukel suggested that only “toffs” have these opportunities which is just plain not true. I sold a bit of kit Aherns who had an office/yard in Crow Lane, Romford. The old man started the firm, basically just a normal oik who earned all his money out of other peoples rubbish. A dealer boots and braces kind of chap, him and his wife booked themselves the best cabin on the QE2 for a cruise……nobody was asking him if his mum and dad was lords.
-
And more importantly the advice and attitude of dad.
-
Totally agree mate but the finance anyone can do if they stash the dough away to do it.
-
I agree, that’s completely how it is….but nothing is physically holding them back is it ? You seem a well travelled bloke and I may be wrong, but I’m guessing your parents don’t own 38,000 acres in Scotland and have dinner with Prince Charles…..you just had broader horizons. But is anyone stopping them Purely because they don’t come from wealth ?
-
Fair play mate, everyone has to prioritise it just depends what on imho mate.
-
Understood mate, but that’s not a class thing is it….that’s a choice you made. You could have not had a mortgage and tucked your few quid away and gone and done any of that in reality, you just chose to do something else. Nobody said you couldn’t did they, you did what you wanted to do. I was the same, just out grafting but no mortgage, just wanking my money up the wall every week like millions of other lads because we didn’t know anything else, our horizons wasn’t that big. When you came out of state comp you went to work, that’s what you did. But if I’d had

I honestly don’t know but they all seemed to be working at something, agricultural contracting, stone walling, equestrian, working in a shop !…….and my point was, this stuff is available to anyone and it is.

I used to go up and visit a friend of mine who was on this forum, younger than me and his circle of friend were all from what most would class “well to do” familys, been to school and knocked about with Prince Harry and all that caper. You couldn’t have wished to meet a nicer group of lads, polite, well spoken, no airs and graces but the difference was their sense of what the world could offer……their horizons were just bigger ! In our little evening chats in the pubs they were talking about everything they had done from cycling the alps, working on ranches in Australia, attending art

Historically speaking “service” spoke to something higher than yourself, in this instance the “nation”……it’s why people felt part of and connected to the land beneath their feet. As we have diluted and destroyed and done away with that to reach the more socialist model of Britain we see today so you see generations (as clearly seen in this thread) who don’t feel invested in the nation because the nation has been destroyed. What wrong with teaching kids confidence ?…..and as a former school governor you could have changed the “teaching kids to shut up and be quiet” bit if you had

I so hope it’s Gerrard and he makes a complete bollocks of the job ! Lol

What I would say is, create an email chain so it’s all there in black and white. You can then forward it to Trading standards and in return forward their response to the retailer…..forward any response you get from him to them as well and if possible quote the relevant passages of consumer rights act. That way you have a record if it come to that, so do trading standards. In short, drive everyone f***ing mad and make them shape up
-
Yes That's why I wondered why he was f***ing about, the aggro you could give him isn’t worth the £100 profit he earned out of it…..it’s just being silly
-
What is a faulty product? The Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires any products you buy must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. The rules also include digital content like downloaded films, games or apps. So all products, whether physical, electrical, digital or even a car, must meet the following standards: Satisfactory quality Goods shouldn't be faulty or damaged when you receive them. You should ask yourself what a reasonable person would consider satisfactory for the goods in question. For example, bargain-bucket products won't be held to as hig

He sold you it so it’s his fault, he can then take it up with the wholesaler. Does me in stuff like this, I used to sell stuff and if something wasn’t right I’d just change it or put it right !…..that’s why I kept the same customers for years. If people pay the right money they are entitled to a proper service. Take it back mate and tell that f***ing chancer that if he don’t just change it you will have trading standard crawling all over him like a rash, local social media, the whole 9 yards…..what’s the pillock f***ing about for £200 quid for, just change it or give you a refu

Amazing, while you’re at it Google: ”How to co-ordinate a relief effort for an island nation after a natural disaster” or “How to bring everyone home alive, twice, from the hottest FOB in the world” You and Mimsy could have a crack at it the weekend ! Lol
-
Shut up Mimsy ! Lol
-
Barley comprehend ?……listen you f***ing Time Bandit, that man has 20 years service with various combat tours, has co ordinated rescue relief missions for small country’s, has been decorated in every theatre he has served by OCs of various nations Armed forces, has climbed Kilimanjaro 3 times and has lept out of aircraft more times than you’ve eaten fried chicken ! Behave yourself you cheeky little c**t !
-
And they thought you were the “go to” point of contact on such matters ?
-
No mate, it will be absolutely nobody !…….nobody is cutting about with Jim jams aged 20 and they haven’t done since about 1953 !
-
Pyjamas ! Lol …….prick deserves to be in a wheelchair running about with a set of Jim jams aged 20 !
-
Oh yeah, of course it did, how silly of me. Lol
