  1. Tidy that mate, 5000 people in my little local town to see the Tumbling Paddy’s last weekend…..the population of the town is only 2000. My boy was at it with all his pals, lads just like him all being part of their fairly traditional community, beer, craic…..couldn’t have given him that where I used to live.
  2. Anything like that is tidy mate, in a world full of “same old, same old” spades music, connecting back to stuff that’s a reflection of you is top drawer. Its one if the great things about how they preserve their language here….I don’t care if people think it’s silly but I absolutely believe it connects them to their past and in doing gives them a distinct culture. In this world where “culture” is a buzz word for anything alien, people forget we have a long and rich history and culture of our own that is absolutely exquisite. I love “Electric Lady Land” as much as the next m
  3. I’m surpassing that ! Lol ……over a thousand years and counting ! I got one the Dubliners to play at a football fundraiser and night out I organised a few years back, he was a top lad and gave his time for nothing as his step grandchild played on the kids team I was coaching. Very talented professional, touring musician.
  4. I follow a lad from Cumbria called JP Worsfold, decent mate.
  5. I have not mate, but I’ll look them up
  6. My beleife is that it is a real feeling mate, it’s well documented that I believe a people are connected to everything that ever went before them so for me that would seem totally normal.
  7. I’m sure it does mate, like attracts like in nature.
  8. Yep, I think that as well…..maybe I’m just imagining things but it connects you to your past I feel.
  9. I’m sitting here having my cup of coffee, listening to some type of bird of prey in the wood beyond, terrier is whining at me…..
  10. For some reason, I can’t listen to English speaking radio stations here in Ireland…..it just grates me, like rubbing polystyrene together. But I can and do listen to the Gaelic language station, don’t understand a word of it but for some reason it fits with the landscape. Anyway, had a lovely late evening drive last night along the lanes (it’s all lanes ! Lol ) as the sun was setting after a beautiful day and was listening to this type of stuff, which I do fairly often.
  11. Winkhounds Wheaton x was like that, I wouldn’t say really big but a lump of a dog…..really nice quiet, well behaved animal in its kennel and around people etc and then a switch just flicked when it went to it’s work…..it used to leather gear mate. Mik rated it as much as to try and take a line out of it to his bitch but it didn’t work unfortunately.
  12. Didn’t know the bloke or the dog, only seen them in the book mate. Looked a fair old lump of an animal
  13. Tigger didn’t have much bull (if any?) in there I don’t think mate, he was off Miks deerhound Sal and I think a lad who used to be on here from the north easts dog. I think it was just a mixture all the way back of massively tested worker to massively tested worker and he ended up with this absolute machine of a dog.
  14. A dog called “Blue” owned by a bloke called Leslie as I recall ?

Point is, athletics was very big round my way what with Fatima Whitbread being a top star and having a fairly well established athletics club that my pal was part of and who wanted her to go on the bigger and better things…..but she just decided that model/actress was what she wanted to do, had to wait to 18 but the job offers were all in place. She was single minded about it, just gos to show not everyone has that sporting drive.

Bird I was pals with in school was a very promising 1500m runner, county and all that……she decided to become a porn model/actress when she left school !
  18. Meaningless comparisons imho, you are trying to show the differences between exactly the same people……Labour & Tory…..exactly the same bunch of traitors and every bit as bad as each other.
  19. How nice to have a chat about dogs, seems so long ago now those great (and no so great) nights & days out in various parts of the country. Some craic……I knows it’s a hijack of the cats thread but good chinwag all the same boys, nice one
  20. The dog got ran 6 nights a week for at least 5 months of the year and was hard fit all the time, took some feeding that beast. My dog was 80lb and Miks dog was bigger so you probably are not far off mate
  21. Now that I agree with.
  22. I think Miks big lad was just shy of 90 (I may be way off) and that’s the best dog on all quarry I have ever seen.
