  1. He was a brilliant dog mate, absolutely top class..I was privileged to see him running many times on a variety of quarry,he done everything in textbook fashion, one of the very best dogs I've ever seen at work,he had a temperament to die for Dodge
  2. Yeah he's out of old Sparky bud,the dam to this pup is a fair animal too, very well tested so it's bred right enough..very intelligent little thing, doing everything as it should for it's age, been going in with livestock twice weekly since the day after it arrived & upto press doesn't give them a second glance, sits, lays down on command, she's already jumping small fences & she's been on scene when the old dog has knocked one over, every day is a school day when rearing a pup bud as you know.

  5. Boots this morning in what was biblical weather conditions out on the mountains with his protege,a young bitch which will be 5 month's old come January 3rd owned by my Mrs. Done touching 14 miles up there so was a very hard day especially with the heavy rain & winds gusting upto 50mph.
  6. Merry Christmas everyone, hope you all have a good one & all the very best for 2024. Times have changed a lot in the past 20 year's at least in the UK regarding running dog's,do what you can, when you can, with the dog's you have. Enjoy your dog's,enjoy your day's & night's out with them, coming from me this is probably hard to grasp to many on here but regardless of the end result of your hunting just be thankful that your out there giving your dog's the opportunity, not everyone is able to do so for various reasons. There probably isn't anyone alive nor dead come to that who was more tunn

  14. Rarely does a walk up the mountains not result in me seeing some fantastic wildlife, the huffing & puffing getting up there is never easy but when you get to see thing's in their natural environment it makes it all worthwhile
  15. This was Rose back in Feb 2022 the day she snapped two bones in her leg clean in half, she's a tough little thing not a murmur out of her & in fact continued jumping fences & gates on the way home even like that..second pic is her in August 2022 so 6 month's later. The vet who done her operation had never done one but forwarded the x-rays of her broken leg to bone specialists throughout the country for advice on how best to repair Rose's leg. She did tell me that there was no guarantee as the smaller bone that runs behind the big one was snapped about an inch from the end & was unsu

  21. This is Rose just this week, doesn't seem 5 minutes ago since she was a pup in fact I still call her & Bear pups yet they will be 6 year's old on their next birthday. Even though she's had a broken leg & now has a 'bionic' leg she is my number one go to dog. Being brutally honest these day's I go more in hope than being confident, before her accident & before age started catching up with old Boots I was always confident when I went out,we rarely came home without having had a successful hunt. Times certainly have changed & when I was younger I'd not have accepted going out 'hopi
  22. That was always part of it Chaff,no one expects a Pomeranian to be out hunting, she was a great finder of stuff & on more than one occasion led me over a mile in forestry to where quarry had fallen, she had a great nose on her. Many many year's ago now I gave up on all the camouflage/hunting clothing,I wear hiking gear, back pack, walking poles & take the dogs with hi-visibilty jackets on etc..times move on Chaff & what we once could get away with we no longer can matey.
