Don't underestimate yourself Dodge,I know that you've had some serious animals in your kennels & done a hundred times more than I daytime .. likewise regarding our trips that are too many year's ago for my liking, the years pass me by so quickly these day's..I always remember when Topper caught 14 or was it 16 I can't quite remember now,Chester was lame & Topper got some serious running without so much as a five minute break,we gave him some real hammer & to be fair to him he kept on giving his everything,he was a superb dog, retrieved everything as good as a gundog..I really rated

Same dog out of my two Jack x Kelsey..not too shabby considering Minshaw's are renowned for their lamping endeavours..this dog here is actually half brother to Venus of Tomo's,Swift I owned & even my Don dog.
-
FAO Dodger..here's a really old clip of a dog I bred out of my old dog Jack that you travelled up to see run many moons ago now, just thought I'd put it on for the craic..this dog was litter brother to Chester.
-
Boots when last weighed at the vet's was 35.55kg Tomo..at this current moment he's probably 40kg plus,he's just enjoying retirement now, eating & sleeping for the most, still gets 3 walks daily but not excessive exercise like he used to get. Old dog will be 13 come October 1st,he looks very well to be fair to him, absolutely gleaming he is.

We still have a few Saluki types in the family Dodge,my eldest lad has a bitch out of Romeo x Mia & my second eldest has these three amongst his crew,he's still young & daft & prepared to put the miles in to travel to gallop them, the feathered bitch is experienced & the other two will just be starting away this upcoming winter. They are all well bred so we will see how they go

These young dogs are a 1/4 Saluki Dodge with 5/8 Grey..they only have 1/8 Bull in them,I guess they aren't too far off being 3/4 Grey 1/4 Saluki & being honest Dodge, they may lack a bit of staying power but they are out of our own dog's & we know what they are capable of doing & what they can't do,I've bought dogs in over the year's out of 'so called world beater's/champions' & all bar one or possibly two have been mediocre at the best,I just don't trust anyone in this game or very very few,99.9% are full of shit & or are happy with mediocre/poor mutts, this internet opened

Some cracking images there Dodge, obviously a man dedicated to his dog's,success is never a given in our game,if you don't put the hard work in from day one, feed the best of gear or fail on the the attention to detail with them then rest assured at best you will just be the owner of good dog's..these types of fella's are the one's that regularly own champions..great topic bar the idiot's..oh & I'd just like to add the images Riohog put on & Chartpolski, superb looking dog's on show too

Yeah she's my Mrs bitch bud,she broke a metatarsal bone in her foot but she's 100% sound & tearing up the turf again just now,had her on the beach earlier on today, she's looking grand she is
-
Tino on the first image then from left to right Bear,Gus & Maggie,3rd pic is Bear & last but not least Gus..just from their second walk today on this afternoon's wander.. evening walk still to come
-
Roxy on the left, she's 10 year's old in the next couple of months,Lucky in the middle is like her dam Roxy in that she's a 5/8 Grey 3/8 Bull, her sire was a dog called Thor, she was the only pup in the litter,top/back right with his head just showing is Bear,he's out of Boots & Roxy so half brother to Lucky, front right is our pup Maggie, like the three aforementioned she too is 5/8 Grey without splitting hairs, her dam Rose is like Bear a half sister to Lucky as she too is out of the old girl Roxy..I'll get a pic of the three generations with Roxy,Rose & Maggie at some point soon.

Bear.. 99% of the time that I take the pup's out it's with just Bear,he's such an obedient dog with a fantastic temperament that just doesn't put a foot wrong in life that I believe he is a great role model for the youngsters. As I've said many times before I don't think many people would own him due to his disabilities but he's got a wonderful zest for life & enjoys every single day that comes around. He can on occasions show me that touch of brilliance that he had before he broke his neck, sadly it's not as often as I'd of hoped but still,it is what it is & we will enjoy those moments

Tino (Boots x Rose) 7 1/2 month's old.. currently standing 26 1/2tts but as you can see still got a bit of 'knuckle' on him so he's got a little bit more growing to do yet, weighing over 30kg so he's easily going to make 35kg plus by the time he fills out..he's a beautiful pup, very easy to own,has done everything I've asked of him so far, great recall,100% with livestock, brilliant retriever, jumps absolutely anything, not phased by water etc, great in the motor, none of that standing up bollox, straight in the motor & lays down instantly,he's just now really starting to 'switch on',very keen dog,

My young gun's yesterday afternoon..Tino,Gus & Maggie. As you can probably see all three are currently going through the moult, the more hair I take out of them the more seems to be there the following day,it's a seemingly neverending process

Sad news indeed,I can recall meeting you & Buck at the Midlands Gamefair & Buck was everything that you portrayed him to be..a big, strong individual with a fantastic temperament..the memories will stay with you forever Ray, keep on keeping on matey..R.I.P Buck lad, time to rest easy now
-
My 3 pups that I kept back out of Boots x Rose..Gus back left,Tino back right & little Maggie at the front..they were 7 months old on May 6th..the two dog's will be well over 26tts & the bitch about 24tts..I weighed them the day they were 7 months old,Gus was 28.70kg,Tino 29.55kg & the little bitch was 24.50kg..they are all doing really well,so far so good with them..not a bother kind with sheep/lambs,will jump absolutely anything, very very keen pups but so they should be with being 5/8 Greyhound..from birth I've always favoured the black dog Tino & that's still the case,I real

Devastated to hear of the passing of Phil, spoke to him over the phone many times over the year's. He gave me advice when I asked for it & was an inspiration to me when I was just a young lad. A very knowledgeable man & more importantly a humble & honest fella too. I can recall his Lurcher Journal's some 40 plus year's ago now long before his recent publications, they were inspiring to say the least..Deepest condolences to his nearest & dearest.. sleep easy Phil From a fellow moucher..

Like father, like son..the similarities are there, the apple never falls far from the tree as they say, 12 year's the age difference but the young gun is looking very much like his sire.
