    Bred a litter of a great bitch in 1994.Six pups.They where all booked before hand.So they all worked with the mother at some time or outher.Only two came realy good.One i kept.(Hawyoo) and Undi,s Meg.Took it,s first roe just under a year old.Unplaned.Just one of thoses things that happen,s now and again.Lost the Mother on the field about sixteen month later.But i think she was by far the better dog.

    Only had a quick glance at this topic.Pre-ban.I had deerhound cross that could do the job solo,I also had small collie x I preferred to double up.But numbers never came into it.As long as the farmer was happy and i had a quick clean kill without any injuries to the dogs.Was also a great time to enter a pup.If that ment three dogs.So be it..

    Well bud.In my book an untrained dog is an actsident waiting to happen.What more can i say. Totally agree! But would you consider a dog you can not call off any chase when you want untrained? Never.The two dogs i could call off had to be done just as they started to go.When the dogs off it,s off and know one can call it back. Are right, i thought thats what you were saying, like that Big Zook tit, and i thought you were mental Yer if the dogs by your leg you can over ride the situation, but once the dogs gone and running it'd be an impressive thing (or a sad one) to s

    In my lamping days.I worked two dogs of the lead.And could send them out one at a time.Any dog will chase.But it takes hard training to make a dog stand its ground.

    Yes. Had two dogs in my lifetime i could hold back.If a hare or rabbit got up in front of me.If the dog was beside me or working up to ten yards in front.Most times i could stop them.

    Theres the problem.When brakeing a dog on livestock.It should allways be on a lead.That way you have control at all times.If the dog show any interest.Give it pellters.It soon learns.

    They say you cant teach an old dog new tricks.I think you can.All hunting dogs work by sight or scent.You just have to teach it chickens are a no-no.How you do it is up to you.Or PM me . .Is it good ground you dont what to lose.
