John,i never said other dogs are no good EVER,only an idiot would say that Some OUTSTANDING working dogs out there of ALL breeds and crosses :ok: I just know from years of experiance a dog needs a big dollop of saluki in it to run on the big land,nothing else can touch em at that paticular game The Forley was open to anyone with ANY breed of dog to run in it...............never herd of one that was,nt saluki bred The men who run/ran week in week out,and i know most of em,run nothing else

The original "Fred" was Mick Taylors black an tan dog,kennel name "Ringsfield Pharo". Alan Booth(boozer) got a black and tan dog out of him and also called it "Fred" kennel name "Amazing Ali" most of the pure coursing salukis of today are from this strain..............hope this helps
