  1. Had a Border/Lakeland a few years back and he was blue murder with other dogs. He started all the bother with the bull terriers and he'd never back down. Made an average earth dog but paid for his belligerence with his life. What I would say is that dogs that get aggro with puppies have been b*****ds later in life in my experience.

    BOOTS

These were selling at double this price a while back. For the money, the best boot out there, easily. http://www.worldofsurplus.com/ishop/1061/shopscr1511.html If you prefer something a bit more up market, club together with some other lads and stick an order in to Cabela. Be prepared to pay customs on top though.
  4. Some interesting reading there NUV. Good post mate. Do you think that this apparent mix of styles which we see in even the same litters is from people over the years breeding bayers to hard and not breeding complimentary styles together?
  5. Lot of dogs going lately. Sorry to hear about your loss mate
  6. I had little jacks when I was a teenager and they did for me when I was ratting and rabbiting, but unfortunately they were found lacking when it came to earth work. Having said that I am sure it was nothing to do with their size as plenty of small dogs have made the grade and excelled. Look at Bert Griptons dogs and Geoff Laytons were on the small size.

    Animal rescue

I had a lady down the road from me at my old house that worked for Animal Aid and she was very anti-hunt. I made sure I took absolutely everything that was injured to her....pigeons, rabbits, crows...the works. She ended up telling me to f**k off! :11:
  8. That dog above is pretty closely bred
  9. Are you talking Russells? Or white terriers? Because being white doesn't make a terrier a Russell
  10. No balls.....and he's been a bloody hard worker in his time. Might have been better if he'd kept them? Who's to say? I've never had any complaints about his work.
  11. I had the same result last night. It was as still as the churchyard where I was and there wasn't much about. The five foxes didn't help either. I had one b*****d sat about 50 yards behind a bunny and I couldn't slip the dog because she could see the bloody fox :11: Had a few runs though and came home with two coneys. Bitch skinned a pad though so she's lame now.
  12. You got any pics? I'd love to see them
  13. Bloody good post that fella! There's a bit about them in this months EDRD that echo the sentiments put forward by Parkstone......coursing dogs, not racing dogs.
  14. A similar thing happened to my missus a few years ago. There was a bloke in a park calling dogs to him and making off with them. Thankfully my bitch tried to take his hands off. Hope he gets the dog back safely. Let me know if there's anything I can do.
  15. But that message could all so easily be "don't chase rabbits"
  16. There's been chocolate dogs around for generations. The way I see it, the term "fell" is a catch all that encompases the patt, the lakie etc. It's a general term and the others are more specific. My old Billy to me was a border/lakie, but to another bloke at a show might have called him a lakie, or a fell or even a red patt. Makes no difference....he was still a twat of a dog
  17. I'm up for lamping anyimte mate
  18. Third world poverty And just what is an American spread?
  19. She was buried in one of her favourite places, underneath a walnut tree, where she's caught a few foxes in the past. Thanks for all the kind words
  20. Let me get this straight, it was a white substance, a liquid, milky-like in appearance and it was apparent when you gutted her....... I'd say it was probably gout.....
  21. oh about £150 with a scope and bag or thereabouts
  22. You'd ideally want a HW97K and I happen to know someone with one for sale
