    Bull X

I hear you Top Chalker.................... I think a lot don't either care or know............. But, there's plenty of lads you who do care and who know exactly what bulldog they are using

What are you hoping for in a first cross bull litter? Don't forget that the gameness in the bulldog you are using (you should be using a game one ) will be lost in the cross , and that's the real meaning of "game" I am talking about. If you aren't gaining a game dog, then what are you gaining? Muscle, structure, athleticism? Too many people breed to what's at hand rather than the best that's out there. I've seen bulls with shite feet (I've got one!) and I've seen bulls with tremendous feet (I used to have one!) but I wouldn't let shite feet stop me breeding from what I considered a good
  9. Socks has it about right and the one he is missing Chartpolski got it on the nail....whippet. We still call whippets (or whippet/greys) "snaps" up north.
  10. Is that dog a straight half cross Spartacus? Seen a few nice ones that look that way down in the West country a few years back.
  11. Just been reading one of my old books and I thought I'd post a few old names of well known, recognised breeds up to see if anyone knows what the breed is called these days. No cheating! Bingley Terrier Waterside Terrier Wharfdale Terrier (Different names for the same breed) North Counties Terrier Rothbury Terrier Reedwater Terrier Short haired Skye Terrier Charlie's Hope Terrier Mustard and Pepper Terrier Coloured Working Terrier Patterdale Terrier Poltalloch Terrier Roseneath Terrier Aberdeen Terrier Lightning Rag Hound Snap Dog Norfolk Spaniel

    What do you call

I bought a real good pair when I was in the army. As socks said, get the good ones. Mine are Berghaus jobs and are an excellent bit of kit
  13. Thanks for all the kinds words people. It was my privilege to work that bitch and I feel honoured to have had her on my yard.
  14. Well I've just got back from my travels only to be told that my little black bitch Nell has died in kennels from pyometra. I not ashamed to say that this news has broken my heart. She was the best dog I have ever had and would turn her hand to anything you asked her too. She was certainly no world beater, but I'll never have another like her. One that comes close would do me. I'd just sorted out her carriage to Australia and then this happens. Someone up there doesn't like me. See you on the other side old girl R.I.P.
  15. got mine yesterday. It's not an exact science, although you should expect to receive it between the 10th and 20th of every month.
  16. Some nice Gould (Nuttall) pups in this months EDRD
  17. I've got a bull here with his nuts chopped and he has never calmed down. He humps every thing he can get hold off!
  18. It was moved because it had nothing to do with working terriers. Look in the General section and you'll find it.

  20. One of the other mods has moved it to general talk for some reason http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...showtopic=13109

  22. You need to speak to Lee the Rainmaker!
  23. Not my dog mate...we were just out the back giving her a stretch. She's a handsome beast believe me
  24. I broke a one year old bull to stock and it was quite a struggle. Never used a collar though. They have to know that you are the boss and they are to do what you tell them, end of story. I'd use the collar as a last resort and even that's not foolproof
  25. Scott bitch I've been out with a few times. She has a nose like a hound!
