  1. I remember my bitches first like it was yesterday.....can't beat that feeling!
  2. Me? walking around the place? I was walking the dogs over by that fox earth that I showed you and Paul under the grubbed out trees on that ash pile....just for old times sake like. You tell them dozy buggers that I've never had the main gate key :11: They always said they'd get me one but never did. Have they got you a key to that gate down where those new apples have gone in? Where we saw that fox sunbathing? It's best to use that gate rather than the commercial unit gate as you can get in between the rabbits and the warrens. How's it going over there anyway? I hear geese going ove
  3. What he doesn't know won't hurt him  Only joking mate
  4. I've got no permission left Molly....I gave most of it to Cupid. There's still a bit of land that's good for a shine though. I might have a look out on that when it softens up a bit. The terriers are going nuts without any work
  5. :11: Well I'm moving to Queensland mate so I might give it a go! Never tried Boags though. VB gives me the shits proper though

    SNARE THE LEAGUE

Do you get in the Queens Head by any chance Alistair?
  7. Not bad mate, not bad at all. The first time Nell had a cat was a nightmare! She had it in an old earth and it shredded her ears. It was a big, stinky old feral tom and it was a bugger! The first time she got tagged in the eye, it went that smokey blue colour and she was straight down the vets. Second time was a bit more serious though and that's when she had her eyelid stitched up over. It didn't help that the wheaten cross got her above her eye a couple of years back either....poor little bugger
  8. Once found a geriatric transvetite having a wank :11:
  9. Had that with one of mine mate...twice. Thought she'd lose her eye the second time, but the vet stitched her inner eyelid up over her eye and she came through ok, but her vision has never been great since. I've gone through some fucithalmic over the years
  10. Cheers Nobby.....I think the Magners didn't taste quite the same the second time though :11: Mitch, what beer do you recommend over your way? I've had Tooheys New, VB, XXXX, Cascade, Crown and Coopers. Personally I like Coopers Red the best but it doesn't half get you fuzzy
  11. With my impending move abroad I went for a trip up north to take my collie cross for her last look at the Dales. The weather was forcast to be nasty and we weren't disappointed! After a short drive off road, which I'm sure to Pan.Handle was as easy as pie, but to me was like a white water ride we got the dogs out of the truck and headed off. The dog was soon marking which was a good sign. The wind was playing havoc with the dogs hearing and the rain was settled in for the day. We got a few bolters before BD Roughcoats white jill got a hammering underground. The ferrets we were u

  14. Salad...the red dog is a Kelpie/Grey.... Mike, you've done yourself and the dogs proud with those two mate. Absolute belters
  15. Pure breeds such as those are still used in continental Europe. The style of boar hunting over there is to use dogs to find and bay or drive to guns, so in essence they are still boar dogs, although very different from the style of hunting you see in Australia etc. The most common dogs I have seen in my very limited experience of boar work in Europe are Bayrischer Gebirgsschweisshunds which literally translates as Bavarian Mountain Bloodhound. They are also known as Posokowiec Bawarski in Poland. Another breed used is Goncy Polski which is also a type of "blood" hound. They aren't bloodhounds
  16. I don't think it's about "breeds" as such, not in the KC meaning of the word anyway. I think there are types of terrier about which display certain characteristics, which, maybe not in every instance, define a breed, and I'm using the word "breed" in a very loose, informal way here. When people talk of russells we tend to think of a type with certain characteristics, and there will always be exceptions of course, but on the whole people think of jacks and transmit certain working styles on to them. Same with blacks (or whatever you want to call them), borders etc etc. What I think Foxdropper

  19. Aye, they were good little hunting/companion dogs for us too. We killed a fair few rats and rabbits with ours, but when the big boys took us out digging we realised ours were not up to the game and we went home with our tails between our legs We didn't blame the dogs though and they lived with us for the rest of our days. I've had some of the happiest times of my life hunting with little russells like them. Fair play to you mate and best of luck with them.
  20. They are the type of russells me and my mates used to rake around with when we were teenagers
