I had the privilege to meet him too at a steam rally some years ago, although I never spoke to him I sat and listened to him along with a lot of others. He had charisma in abundance, loved the work he did and made what he liked, interesting to others. He brought to life the age of steam and Victorian England through his total love of it all and his enthusiasm is what made it interesting to others. I cant get my head round this catterpillar thing , how do they do it so quickly , its amazing how they change in front off your eyes literly

This is how the caterpillers started off when they arrived This is 24 hours later This is this morning , they have gone brown now & a bit fatter Its amazing how they have changed in 2 days & i cant stop looking at them , seeing if anything else is different

I met him at a steam rally in Stoke yrs ago & he was a small bloke but his hands were like shovels , very likeable man and i watch very little telly but love to watch anything he is in , i think even as he got used to being in front off the camera as the yrs went by he he never lost that normalness that a lot of people who get thrust into the public eye loose , Ricky Hattons the other one i always love to watch on telly for the same reason

1 last year , second kit was dead inside the jill & she had to be treated at the vets to help her expell it
