  5. Well the swans have been located in the junior school playground off all places so they will be ok for tonight hopefully
  6. Bloody hell your good it was a speckled brown behing the leaf , i saw it when i took the pic but couldnt get both in the pic without moving & they fly off then
  7. Spotted some very pretty butterflys earlier , not sure what they are though Think its a shrew , never seen one before A fox i forgot about
  8. I have just got back from another walk up there & theres no sign of them on the 2 ponds that they could access easily , i will go back at the end of the week just to see if there on the pond again

I went my usual walk this morning & took food for the swans , before i got to the pond i have been stopping of at a stream & just sitting under the trees hoping to catch a sight of a stoat i saw last week & was unable to get a pic of it . Then i heard a russtling sound & looked behind me & saw what i thought was a white dog , but it was the swans & there young on foot , never seen this before & i did wonder how the adults had got these young to the pond as they have only been on there about 3 weeks , now i know, some epic journey as well moving them all safely f

  14. Don’t eat any thing until you have positively identified it have a look on Google and learn to tell the difference between the conker and sweet chestnut leaves. I’ve only hade them raw and roasted. My Nan used to make elderberry and blackberry jam. and elderberry chutney I don’t know any of the recopies. hope this helps atb John I will have a look for elderberry jam in a min see how much stuff you need to make it thanks
  15. beat me to it - moved my 8x6 shed a few years ago only took 3 of us (shortass,lightweight and me mrs lol) get the ferts in and a long net round job done!!! -- or have you a dog you can use??? atb chris I only shifted mine as the fence blew down & i had to keep the old lurcher in the garden i had at the time

The cygnets are spending more time on there own now , i just watched them today really but they seem to be getting more independent every week, will be sorry to see them go to be honest , been a good 6 months watching the parents & then the chicks I hope the other pair on the lake have some next year , summat to do all year i suppose i have found 11 cygnets in the village i live in so thats a few more to watch out for in coming years can you do anything with sweet chestnuts , i found a bush loaded with elderberys as well but didnt pick any as i didnt know how to make anything

  19. Oh thats not so bad if your on a diet there very small though so you would need a few for a decent meal

  21. Just lift the shed up & move it, i am sure if me & me mother can move a shed from one side of the garden to another between us a few young lads can
