  1. I'll sort some recent pics out, if you search 'Willow' in the search bar and a thread appears started by me when Willow was a pup. Hendo
  2. Alright Dave, Your right mate, i got 'Willow' last year from a gentleman in Nottingham, she's from working lines ( Sedgehurst mainly ) she's a great pup very lively, not a lump of a dog by any means, i would say the size of a ESS, im going to put her through her training soon and see what she's made of, i'm sure she'll make the grade. Hendo
  3. Cracking looking pup, all the best Hendo

  10. Spot on Andy, i would make sure recall, sit and stay is 100% before i bothered with the heel work, my opinion, make sure one stage is complete before the next stage is started. You can always give me a ring for a bit of crack over thephone anytime mate. I have the springers, a cocker and a clumber at the moment mate, plenty to keep me busy Baz
  11. Alright Andy, i knew it was you and the pup, id like to see a few pics ! Its a simple problem to sort out, dont get frustrated, take your time and she'll be spot on. Train her in a quiet spot on your permission, no disracyions, just you and her, get the basics drummed into her, remember, its all a game at this age Baz
  12. She has lack of confidence in you, somewhere in her training you have been robbing her when she has been retrieving, she knows your gonna take it from her. Back to the vey beginning, loads of praise, silly voice, let her hold it for a while before taking it from her, she should think its fun and a game, but she's still only very young dont get frustrated and lose tour rag. Dont try to progress her training untill this problem is solved.
  13. It sounds like a dominance issue, when its a house dog, and not everyone treats him the same way, ie some people let him on the sofa, others tell him to get off, he's mixed up, he know's he's leader of some and not of others, everyone should treat him the same, and he should be shown he's bottom of the pecking order in the house, people first. It should be sorted quickly before it gets out of hand. Hendo
  14. A friend has asked me to advertise 2 KC reg'd ESS dog pups, ready soon, they are Liver & White, from working parents, pups are docked and dewclaws removed, excellent pedigrees. North East area. This is the info he sent me, any more info contact him on 07769320857. Hendo
  15. I have four springer bitches, they werent raised together, living in the same kennel and run, no probs at all Hendo
  16. Nik he should be getting fed 3-4 times a day, twice a day is no good for a pup that age and especially that many hours apart Hendo
  17. Cracking looking Lab, hope he does you proud, any tips or bits of advice i'd be contacting Dave C, hes done a great job with his Lab, im sure he wouldnt mind giving a bitter of advice. ATB Hendo
  18. RS Yes he was bred by Ian, owned and trialed by George Wilson. No need for the slagging off of the footie teams...SAFC are still on route for Europe Baz
  19. I like Dave Lissett's dogs, but i might be just be biased since i have a bitch out of 'Buccleuch Bomber' Baz
  20. RS No, she is bred by Ian English ( Helmsway ) and your spot on about the Clumber, in one end, out the other Baz
  21. RS I have a 7 month old springer bitch, coming along nicely, still nothing serious yet, but ive got confidence in her. I also have a 9 week old Clumber Spaniel, no need to explain what stage she's at but i hope she'll be a top worker in her years to come. Baz
  22. RS Good question, i think it depends on what your target is for the dog in question, i think everyone wants their dog to be the best it can be, using all its natural instincts and abilities, i think if your aim is to trial, there is very little room for error, whilst if youre gonna shoot/beat/pick up with the dog it doesnt have to be as finely tuned ( thats not to say we dont all try for a perfect dog ). It is great when you realise your dog has what it takes to be a top worker, and is going to serve you well, thats what its all about at the end of the day. Baz
  23. Ive trained a few springers, and have found alot to be 'soft natured' but ive never really related that problem to the breeding in particular, obviously makes you think about the parents of the pup, but ive never thought it to be directly linked to a certain line of breeding, i think every dog is individual in their training ie some cant be shouted at, where some need grabbed by the scruffs of the neck. As in 'Too hot to handle' ive never come across a springer that has been described as this, i think its down to the handler, sure, its not too be taken for granted that theyre a walk in the par
  24. Good to see the young uns getting involved, well done Baz
