my water bowls are inside the kennel so dont freeze,,,, i think im right in thinking hot water or warm water freezes quiker than cold water,,, im shure i remember that from science at school
-

-
Dazz re- read page 30 post 440 . hern said joedogs was the other side of the fence whilst minshaw nicked the dog .
-
thats what i was thinking Sorry, I don't understand how he could be intimidated by someone that stole a dog from him and then bring up the courage to buy a dog from the person that stole a dog from him? Either you avoid the guy or kick his ass not buy a dog from him? seen plenty of men intimidated,,, working the door for 15 years,,,, thers been times when i have also felt the same,,,, its not a nice feeling,, most people and i mean most like proberbly 90% of "MEN" will get intimidated very easily, never mind all the tuff talk on here ,, its a very natural responce .
-
Some have lower morals than others perhaps he was intimidated,,, some folk dont like conflict
-
only bolted rats stoats and the odd fox,, loads of stoats though, especialy up the dales, in winter up there they go in to ermine, wich is nice to see.
-
cant be doing with that american introoder,,, like most americans its to large and loud good bit off british beef on our table and thats not just me also a couple of pheasants
-
rather than start from scratch with a greyhound or whippet, and a collie/kelpie, if you already own a fast type running dog that is mainly whippet grey deerhound type, find a good working kelpie, and use that over the dog you already own
-
when you say stock dog i asume your refering to dogs that work with stock, ie, acd , collie, kelpie ect. the short answer is, we use them to for brain, better feet, better coat and skin, and certainly collies are very agile, and quik thinking, and last but not least staminar,,,, most collie grey types will catch rabbits all night long .
-
Its just cos its black and tan though max,,, funily enough i was just talking to andy about this dog yesterday, its a dog i like the look of a great deal.. as for staminar who knows, but wasnlt travler son of blue, and i dont think blue looks like a saluki type, and i think bue had good staminar,,,, also that black and tan could have come from the "hound" weather trail or fell that was supposed to be in there, feck even some colie dogs can be tri coloured . whatever there breeding i dont think it matters,, like most good lurchers, its just a long line of bitsa's with the main charactor

on the local news tonight (east mids), there has been 6 kids die in the last 2 weeks cos of these flu virouses, also a pregant mother in hospital , real sad news and just shows how serriouse it can be.
-
I have tried tights, pillow case etc but found it makes the licquor cloudy as the finer sediment still gets through - I had some muslin squares from a brewery before and they were pene elrfect - I wondered if anyone else uses the same? OTC bloody hell your a perfectionist OTC you proberbly wouldnt like my sloe home brew, thats gone through a siev ,,,,,, as there are tiny bits at the bottom,,,, rough and ready mine good luck in your search,,,,, i would have thought a catering type company would have stocked sothing like that
-
yep we have all had it,, had my mrs down the hospital twice last week, as readie said it puts you on your arse, i had flue same as this 15 year ago as a single bloke living alone,,, like the other guy said thought my time was up 2 week in bed. my mum and dad visited at the end of last week,,, i told em not to come,,,, the old man has it now,,, but me mum had had the flue jab,, she's fine,,,,,,,,, think ile have it next year .. one things for shure when you have proper flu ,, you will never call a cold "flu" again,,,,, wel unless its man flu
-
agree with lansra,,,, also the bird that wone the gold medels , was it bobsled ??? they train on that concreat track half the year , real amatures , with not alot of funding. and theres plenty others besides.
-
i just use a sieve (spelling), or get one of those little tea strainers there even finer than a siev,,,, or use a clean tea towl
-
Correct Tomo. But, in one of the pics, their was a fallow buck, in velvet, which only, happens in July/August. OK there is one in velvet,, so maybee that was an early season catch,,, but to knock all the catches and pics ??
-
if yours is an average all-rounder in that case nearly every lurcher i ever owned and seen was "an average all-rounder"its just what suits are own needs no not realy watchman,, i dont concider the kelpie cross even an avrage all rounder, she wont do some quary, and even as a young dog befor the ban was not much cop at catching hares. like i say a good rabbit lamper , and good ferreting comanion. but im happy enough with that cheers TOMO
-
I AGREE with flint, there wont be many lurchers out there that are masters at evry disaplin. but if you the owner is happy with an avarage all rounder then thats fine. that little kelpie cross i have is good lamping bunnys, and a good ferreting, but thats about it, and wil retrive birds when roost shooting, but thats your lot,,
-
good lad , look forward to seeing him run next year,,, feck youl be even bigger and browner by then, youl look like a buff version of david dickinson
-
here ya go jamie,,,, pinched this of the deerstalking section, hope the linc works this fallow stag shot a few days ago,,, you can still see the remains of the summer coat,,, and its now the middle of winter like i said pay attention http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/181311-my-first-fallow-buck/
-
and why shouldnt i be commenting on the site?? no not all the rabbits look half grown, but some do and some of the deer ARE, and to the other botter you do not need to look a the leaves and if you actually went out in the countryside you would be able to tell the time of year by a deers coat colour tomo . but other than that good pics and some good days out i bet a fallows sumer coat can stay like that well in to late autumn
-
Thats a proper strong looking pup ginny, that one with the white chest,,, well they all are but thats very strong. i liked em when i saw them when there were about 10 week old , i bet "S" is well pleased. have you got one ginny, or are you just letting S keep, clean and feed them,, and you just take them out
-
nice to see some pics i havent seen befor, glad you put them up singlehanded, joe ect.. i love the knockers,,,, they see a pic with a tree in the background with leaves on , and automiticly say "SUMMER". some of you ought to take more notice of the countryside, that you suposadly hunt in. leavs just START to colour up end of sept, then through oct they get the rusty colours, not till the end of november are the trees bare.
-
done loads of night ferreting in my time,,, as the others have said, get on that park land you cant go on in the day.. had some good bags in the right places..... we also yoused to do a field next to a power station,,, you could do without a moon,, cos of all the light polution from the power station. just have a walk round first , to get them to ground
