  1. A Ferret Jill that has been lined with Mick The Miller
  2. Labradoodles, Cockerpoos, Patterjacks, Beddypoos, The lists go on, I meet People with these crosses, and I am always amazed at the amount of cash they pay for these crosses. Where years ago, they would be the result of a mis mating and given away free gratis, How the times have changed. Maybe its something to do with the KC only allowing a KC Bitch to bred a certain number of times, and there after, anything bred, cannot be registered.
  3. Smithie, excuse if this sounds stupid, But when you run the net and its over the two deep ruts caused by the Landrover, cant you just shovel some earth into the rut where the net passes over, levelling it off. therefore any rabbit would not be able to get under. it would only take a few shovels.
  4. I cant remember where Buster, but i too can remember seeing the old photos of rough coated Whippets. im sure it was Miners who had them?
  5. After a few phone calls, and being told by the employee they would sort it out, with nothing happening, I finally managed to get hold of someone who said to give her a few hours and she would see to it, and she did. Received cheque last Friday, and so did Glasgow Animal Hospital. I certainly wouldn't use Argos again.
  6. I got given a bottle free gratis, For most part of the day my Ferts are running on paving slabs, never need to do the Jills claws, there always on the move. But the Hob is a bit of a lazy sod, and sometimes I give his nails a clip. Like what has been said, I just put a blob on his stomach, keeps him well occupied, and can trim his nails no bother. this is the only time I use it.
  7. Dont know to much about Genetics, could be right, but I wouldn't believe everything you read in TCW.
  8. You are probably right, i usually get a grip of the pup, and put the lead on him, when i meet a strange dog. but i never seen this one, and it happened too quick.
  9. Its an age thing, and he has to many alias.
  10. this is one of the slopes we do with preset nets, ferreting and a dog pushing the rabbits into the net. if you look at the far right bottom of the net you will see one of the yellow tent pegs. and the rabbit hitting the net no problem. that fancy hat on the fence isnt mine its Lifelongcumbrian, at the top you will see spare fibreglass poles, which are used as well as the pegs.
  11. I cant believe the answers, saying your dog was off the lead, its a popular dog walking spot, rough ground, a good place for training a pup, on rabbit smells. so are you saying that a pup should always be on a lead, we beg to differ, he had no control over that dog, everyone lets their dog run on there. maybe if the pup had been full grown, it might not have been as keen to grab hold.
  12. its bad crack you cannot let a pup of the lead, if that was the case then, they would never get a free run. because of that extending leash he had no control over that dog whatsoever. it was lucky it was a 16wk pup, i know someone with a Lurcher, that had it attacked it, it would have ended up a dead Dog. The next time it tries that, with an adult, it might not be so lucky.
  13. Had jack a walk last night at the back of my house, he was off the lead sniffing rabbit scents, when he met a Patterdale on a expandible lead. before I could catch him, he ran up to the Dog and gave it a sniff, it then turned on him. managed to pull it off, when the dog ran out with the leash at full length and grabbed him by the bag leg. Got it off him again, and the pup took off and ran off, he had a chunk bitten out his ear and a deep puncture wound in the back leg, had him to the the Vet this morning, Antibiotic injection, and course of tablets £18. 50 which isnt bad. I just hope there is
  14. I think LC may have a photo of a slope in a wood, where the net was pegged at a few places on the bottom line.
  15. Using the pegs, has never stopped me from catching a Rabbit hitting the net, and thats the main thing. but as you say we all do things different.
  16. When i run out stop nets if there is a gap in the bottom line due to ground contour, I just peg it down with a plastic tent peg. keep a few in my bag.
  17. Its good to see a lot of thought going into breeding, sourcing a good Stud, and breeding off a really good Bitch. Don't think you will have these Pups long.
  18. Two Litter Brothers 3/4 Whippet 1/4 Bedlington with Dam Beddy X Whippet.
  19. Dumfries & Galloway, ive never heard of them.
  20. You can tape the end pins with electrical tape, stops them from clanking, have used the square pins, don't like them.
  21. Im the same, hopefully dog gives a positive mark, nets on, Ferrets in, Bunnies in bag, lift nets, onward to next set.

  23. Dont really wish to be drawn in, but ive been on a few forums for a number of years and regarding Whippets and crosses i don't come across many posts stating MB is a great worker of Dogs. they are usually dogs of his breeding, with posts of lads working them. or the old chestnut Sooty Sam.
