Did the male coyote get killed when the new pack of wolves took over the territory? The old pack just used to drive them away, but he tried to push his luck with the new boys, and paid the price. Is it just me being weird or does anyone else smell The Night? To me it's like a cool earthy smell. Filled with scents of the season. You just don't get the same smell during the day. I can't get enough, it's what drags me out to wander fields and roads at ungodly hours.

Look at the lands the British colonized. They have a civil service, justice system etc. All modelled on the British system. May not be ideal but it's better than tribal warfare. Back in the day, 1970s-ish, I remember being taught the highway code and countryside code at primary school. We had Tufty the squirrel keepin us safe on the roads. Anyone remember the orange reflective armbands? All my peers where members of The Tufty Club. I can't remember who/what was the countryside champion but we where taught basic countryside manners. Leave gates as you find them, don't run through a crop walk round the border, and keep dogs on a lead near livestock.
