  3. PARDON MY IGNORANCE, BUT WHERES KELVIN VALLEY
  4. I ALLWAYS CHOOSE THE ONE THAT LOOKS THE MOST ATHLETIC, OR LOOKS MORE EVEN, NOT TOO PLODDY ,we went too pick some pups myself and 2 mates and the one i chose was the smallest and most reserved[quiet] and she turned out the same size in height but a lot heavier built ,
  5. DOGS EVERY TIME, ............... if your well into your dogs you wouldnt have asked the question , Ive had air guns and own shotguns and have got my firearms ticket, so my opinion isnt a biased one , i got into the dog side of the hunting last and for me theres definately no comparison , dogs all the way , atb MR POACH .
  6. if something aint broke, as the saying goes,............................
  7. leiba, does your mum still cut your sandwiches into triangles

  8. u bin poaching my poachers permission mr poach tut tut tut PROBABLY, we,ve been poaching that much lately, some places feel like we own em, :11: , , the dogs are fit, the freezers full, and it aint cost the farmers a penny,
  9. went out last night with a mate , whos got some new night vision , we took the dogs and had a look around, the monocular was good and we could see a fair distance , but really we should have had a night out with it without any distractions, [dogs pulling to get to quarry] .... i must admit it was good to watch stuff and get up very close without hardly being noticed, Overall the night was a success , and we got my mates young dog started , i think weve got a few teething problems to sort out with the scope, but it looks like it could be a usefull aid in the near future , has any one else trie
  10. never been before , but theres a few of us going, see you there .....MR POACH
  11. "OUWCH" ......... SOME SLABBING THAT , NICE TRY THOUGH ,
  12. ive got one, shes allright mate,on teeth and handle bars [breban of course] half x saluki/greyhound x 3/8 5/8 bull/greyhound , ...... id have another one
  13. I WAS EXACTLY THE SAME, NOW I WOULDNT BE WITHOUT ONE , its easy to judge , or to asume, ..... if you get the chance to see one work , yuoll see they are really impressive
  14. yes, ive seen a dog bred the same way [approx] it was 5/8 whippet, 2/8 beardie , 1/8 greyhound the said dog had a real good nose and was an exellant marker, ive seen the dog mark on many an occasion out working in the day , he was 25 itts , i cant really comment on his lamping ability as never seen him lamp, as a rabbiting /ferreting dog he was a good dog , but i have seen the dog pull up on a few munties and would let them run past, .... choosing to tackel them from behind, rather than head on , personally I THINK its all about getting the mix right, atb MR POACH.
  15. called in there today not a bad show but no bull xs allowed it stated on programe WHY??? YES WHY ????????? :realmad: :stupid:
  16. nice one mate, dont get throwing him in too deep if he,s a young en, take your time with him, theres years of running em single, time and experience are good building blocks to a long working career. its cubbing season soon there,ll be loads of chances, . ..... WELL DONE THOUGH, ATB HAPPY HUNTING
  17. for the sort of lurcher work i do, [ woodland areas, daytime ] i think that " AGILITY and PREYDRIVE" are more important , In a wood a dog doesnt get chance to ever reach full SPEED, twisting , turning and jumping, whilst chasing its chosen quarry, AGILITY will get a dog up closer to what your running and high prey drive will overcome obsticles, send a dog crashing through bushes without hesitating to more often than not secure a firm hold, ive seen fast dogs that are good at coursing but seem slightly out of their depth in a wood ,and dont seem to produce know where near as good as they do out
  18. E.D.R.D. THE BEST BY FAR FOR THE BULL X LADS
  19. keeping in mind pepoel are going to say diffrent things becus they use ther dogs for diffrent game or work twas only joking mate , i go out hunting with lads that work a lot lighter dogs than myself, hav,nt got anything against these at all, happy hunting mr poach.
