alot of people will have diffrent prefrances but this is mine firstly for the area i dig in i like a dog with a bit of size about them built for the job as some would say a terrier of around 14 -16 inch and around the 20 lbs mark suits me dog has to have agood nose be willing to dig on or push on through tight areas preferebly i liek a baying/ mixing dog one thats up in thier face letting their presence be known and one that has staying power to see the job through and one that ups the tempo when the going is getting tough .... but remember lads the best dogs have bad days if your out doing en

like i said matey SHOW dogs and WORKING dogs even PETS will be picked not everyone chooses to work thier dogs thats down to them and if the judge likes it at end of the day its down to him or her...

at end of the day lads its a show workers and show dogs will be choosen if you dont like it why go ... its abit of fun to make the season come that little bit quicker .

if your not getting the digging in the area you live etc you have to travel i had 3 digs local all season thats why i travel miles each way i did manage 27 digs to one dog and 21 to another also got 2 young bitches started along with a few mates young dogs started

i had a patterdale dog he was 32 lbs fit 16 tts didnt really have a problem getting to the game ... shame he didnt make the grade ...

good post busterdog i was lucky enough to get a well bred bitch given to me off smelly dog back 16 months ago thers not alot of quarry other than rabbits local so she was always kept on lead i decided to take her out at 10 months around some earths that was holding and she gave a posotive mark screaming to get in dropped older dog and earth was dug and she was aloud to have a rag which she did with no holding back i left her in till she was 12 months and she was always markin earths after her first trip out. at the age of 14 months old i decided it was time to enter her and the perfect cha
