  1. The injection is "Tardak" its actually a little outdated now and contains female hormones. There is a new implant available called "Suprelorin" its a direct chemical castration and each implant lasts up to 6mths. It can be repeated as many times as necessary and when wears off is totally reversible. Ask your Vet about it, if you like the results on your dog, go for the permanent option and have him castrated, if it makes no difference, it will wear off and the dog will return to how he was with no side effects at all. http://www.peptech.com/HTML/Animal_Health/Superlorin_whatis.html
  2. Thanks all, very much appreciated.
  3. Thats great, was your pup out of the Levi bred bitch litter? My pups sire is "Percy" he is blue, mom is grizzle. She had 8 puppies, two big blue dogs were born dead, leaving 6. 3 bitches and 3 dogs, one blue bitch, one blue dog, two grizzle dogs and two grizzle bitches. Thanks very much, appreciated. You can get blue from two grizzle parents if they both carry the blue gene, you will get blue also from grizzle to blue mating, as this was. If you mate blue to blue, you only get blue. Thanks for you comments.

  10. Hip Dysplasia can affect any breed or type. I boarded a Whippet/SBT with it, and recently a mongrel with it. Other breed I have boarded with it have been Labs and Rotties and a very crippled American Bulldog.
  11. What was the reason for killing so many Foxes in one go? Was there a problem with them that large numbers needed to be eradicated Quickly?
  12. HAve you ever seen a dog with a strangulated testicle? Let me tell you they writhe in agony screaming and throwing themselves around, lashing out in dreadful pain. Have you ever seen a dog with a testicular tumour? They die most often you know. The testicles are situated OUTSIDE the body for a reason, they need to retain a lower temperature. Its an inherited genetic fault and shame on you thinking because it can "work" its fit for breeding. How about breeding HEALTHY working dogs? Good start?
  13. I hope if she is in whelp that she has a problem free time, you should of put funds aside should your bitch of needed them for any necessary Vet treatment. If you cant afford £40, I pray she doesnt need a cesar!
  14. Id say no to breeding from it. Dogs do take testicles up and down, where they stay is the problem. If its retained, its not right. Id have it removed when they dog is mature and not breed from him at all, the responsible thing to do.
  15. I use one of my Borders to find Deer, thats live Deer and dead Deer. He will track blood trails and scent trails, he has an excellent nose. I trained him as a youngster by using an artificial lure containing Deer blood, much like drag hunting, the live Deer was taught first through sight, and similarly through seeing them then wanting to find them. ALL work done on a long line.
  16. Lovely shot Byron, like the angle.
  17. I use a Canon 40d, love it. Also have a 70-200mm F/2.8, Sigma, pleased with that too. Look forward to watching your dog grow.
