  1. I've got a small pond on a farm I can feed and shoot. It has ample feeding depth all around it at the edges but where the small island it's knee deep is it worth lowering the depth? A guy who's got a pond in the same area as us did it cos his wasn't working and up until the wet winter it was working great.
  2. Cheers! It sits at the top of a hill so I reckon it needs shrub/hedge plants to provide more warmth its to open and the wind rattles right through it

I have no idea what species they are bout they are around 10 years old and are planted 2-3 metres apart I'd say right, now there is just grass growing in parts noticed wee green leaves espousing up from the ground about an inch or 2 high in various places prob weeds or something in no plant expert to be honest

  6. The wood is actually quite open and bare below the canopy they trees r about 4-5 metre in height but its by no means a dense wood it's actually quite cold up there so no birds really bother with it so I'm just trying to get it going! Do snowberries sucker after the first year?
  7. Cheers mate. That's my thinking looking at the bigger picture I mentioned this 2 years ago that's 2 years of cover growing we've missed!!!!

Nobody was bothering their arse on our syndicate about adding abit of cover to our hardwood it's so i took the bull by the horns and bought some snowberries and planted them today to try and get summit established as I'm told the spread quite readily hope it works waste of a drive at the minute
  9. A guy I know stayed his labs with lavender he got from a vets suppliers says it worked a treat.
  10. It's getting to that time of year when those horrible ticks start making an appearance what do you guys use to prevent them clinging onto your dogs? I've heard lavender oil works
  11. If I were to buy some bare rooted brambles 40cm-60cm high would they grow ok under a hardwood? The trees are no dense as the wood is quite bare and open but light may not reach the floor in the height of summer but I need to add cover badly to this small area

  14. We were having a discussion at our annual shoot meeting regarding the ratio of cocks to hens one member reckon he was told it was better to keep a higher number of cocks than hens for holding purposes is there any truth in this?
  15. That guy that looks after the birds on our shoot says he doesn't think hazel would grow he works for the forestry estate where our shoot is situated. I'm an optimist id rather give stuff a go then see
  16. Cheers mate i was at the boys in our shoot last year to do summit but it never came of anything that's a year we lost when we could have planted we have a shoot dinner on fri I'm going to mention it again as its a waste of what could be a half decent drive!

  19. Just something decent sized for the dogs and the decoying gear that's why the van was handy but she can't go off road
  20. I read somewhere on here that the 2.5d are not bad on juice anybody had any experience with these I'm getting close to getting rid of my trusty van for a 4x4 but I'm still mulling over what to get. Cheers
