Just one observation i thought about in work today, say i were to hammer the corvid population in one area until they were almost non-existant, wouldnt the songbird population which most of use strive so much to protect simply become to vast and die of other factors such as over population, lack of food and disease?. just something you think about when your bored cleaning shelves... Mate, if you can give me one good reason why you would want to ferret at night i'll give it a go. Richard becuse you can do places you cant do in the day at night on big parkland, had some good scores But for me ferreting has always been a "cold winters morning" activity and besides, i worry enough about losing the little buggers in the day, nevermind in pitch black. Also how do you know if a rabbit has hit a net?. Richard It is suprising how well you can see at night. I set the nets right so don't miss many, also use long net. You can see quiet well and just ke

Tomany people are going on about the euro polecats that don't want them. Well stop going on. It is simple - if you want them and willing to pay the price then go ahead. If you don't then carry on looking in the free to good home section There's a saying for this and it's "a fool and his money are easily parted". I'll be honest with you, i think its just a gimmick to fool people who want to be different. Why go through all the heart throb of owning whats basically a wild animal, when you can own a tame ferret that looks identical? Is it just so you can say i own an EU polecat? thats the

I'll concede that one, good point. Richard

I like this thread, a lot of good comments. I'll admit i dont get out as much as anyone here but this EU polecate nonsence should stop. The way i see it is like, refining the finest grade fuel and them dumping a load of crude oil back into the mix. Richard

Mine was about 2 years ago at white springs swansea, first time i had ever fished for carp, it was really an "all the gear, no idea" affiar. I set up next to nice chap by the name of Tom who shared all his tactics, shared his bait and put me onto the best spot he knew and the two rods i set up never got to be in the water more than 5 minutes all day, in the end i had to turn the bite alarms off as there was really no need for them. The end result was maybe 45-50 carp over 12 hours with the smallest being 8 lbs and the biggest 15.5 lbs. I still use that swim everytime i visit white springs and

I fish the pleasure lake down there and have had carp up 15lb,which i presume is what your targeting? if your match fishing completly ignore this. The only baits ive found to work well are tutti frutti and strawberry boilies, and red flavoured corn under a float. Ive had success fishing peg 7, putting one bait to the island and another just to the right next to the inflow pipe. Anymore questions just ask Richard

Fished white springs in swansea on sunday and this fish is one of only 4-5 koi in that particular lake and can be seen floating just below the surface and has seen every bait and tactic known to man and is rediculously hard to catch and would of been a good fight on the light rod and 5lb line i was surface fishing with but fell for a boilie on a pair of sleeper rods i had next to an island. It fought 3 times harder than the next one did which was about 2-3 lbs bigger Richard

Some poles managed to empty two small lakes of carp in a few months last year, i didnt renew my membership there.... Richard this is a council water were the fish run to 29lb its not the best venue but its a 2min walk from the house so its quite handy to get a few hours in if you know what i mean The same with the lakes i mentioned, one was quite good for catching them off the top, i used to go there every sunday with the remainder of the weeks loaf and catch quite a few. To often people who'd been bivvied up for the weekend would be out fished by me in just a few hours. The fi

If you look into the hole where the filling probe goes there should be a screw which secures the barrel shroud to the air cylinder, undo this and pull the shroud away from the gun it should slide off. Now take the scope off and there should be 4 grub screws, undo these and the barrel should slide out of the breach and give you access to where the pellets are stuck. Im telling you this on the bases that the webley venom viper is the one based upon the webley raider, if not completly ignore this. Richard cheers Richard, my VV is about 13 years old. Is the Raider an earlier ve
