tricky situation

hi i worked on a trout farm and fly fishery for a few years. the best way by far to catch mink is with a floating tunnel trap. they are normaly a sheet of foam beetween to sheets of ply bord if you cut a hole in the middle of the floating platform under the tunnel built in the middle. you can drop a box in with clay in it for a few weeks and have a look at the prints this will save on the time of haveing to check a live trap every day if it isnt going to work in that place, plus it will let you know if u have any non target animals there. if you do i suggest useing a live catch trap. if you ar -

Just wondering if any one on here had used stink pits in the past for snaring. i spoke to a mate who was useing one and having a lot of sucsses but i dint think much of the methord he uses, bundled copice as sides? if any on knows how much bate to put in of what kind. or any idears for building i would be very thankfull. as at the moment i am thinking about a larger scale pop hole off a phenesnt pen. 3 or 4 of them on the out side of a 10m ring of cicken wire with the snars in. thanks osimons89

gamekeeping
osimons89 replied to valleyshunter's topic in Gamekeeping, Conservation & Shoot Management
keeper told me "a gamekeeper is a jack of all trades master of none" not sure if i 100% agree but not far from the truth. would deffently sugest doing spesific gamekeeping course the country side maagement courses i did and looked at seem to be consovation based. i then did a national award in gamekeeping at sparsholt in hapshire good course learnt alot and helped me a job but no college will make up for hands on work. -
i work as a underkeeper and id love to see every fox hunted with dogs in what ever form but its just not that easy shooting a fox takes less than half the time and is a lot more sucsefull and a lot less disturbing to a shoot. after all if its old ill or in good health it going to eat and if thats my birds its eatting its just got to go.
