  4. Giving your dog a breakfast doesnt affect them when you work them in the day if anything it helps them work better and longer
  5. give them there breakfast as normal(7am)before work, half there tea from3pm-5pm then take them out anywere from 11pm onwards,i always take water with me for them to drink with some deidrolite mixed in then feed them whaen i get backand the next day i always wash there feet

  9. f**k me mate you shouldnt be going into peoples private accounts and nicking there pictures,or have you got fuckall else better to do
  10. what a load of shit this topic turned into,i was on this site a few year ago and it was all arguing then thats why i left ive only just joined back up and its the exact same shit just a different day and its the same people still well done to mark brick for winning last night,if theres a comp next year definetly count me in
  11. a wouldnt say theres abbundance of hares in penrith saying that there isnt alot of rabbits either 10plus years ago there was plenty but to many guns about these days, lost count the amount of times ive lamped fields and theres dead (shot) rabbits lying about, you can still do ok but you cant get the numbers like you used to,also different parts to penrith have difeferent type of game and different numbers of game, ive hunted in the penrith area for the last 10-17years
  12. go on the website flappers dream if you get stuck theres plenty of transporters on there
  13. your probs thinking of a dog called tig, dont know about the car wheel crack though. You could be right mate,it was a few year when i heard the crack
  14. Im sure that pie was bred over in cumbria,by a lad called wayne it was out of a bullgrey called shane and a minshaw bitch, could be a different pie but am sure it ended up in wigan,it used to chase car wheels
  15. I would say it depends on the make up of the lurcher, one with alot of greyhound or deerhound blood would take alot longer to mature than one with whippet blood in,IMO whippets/whippet crosses 9-12months,greyhounds/greyhound crosses and deerhound crosses 12-18months Just my oponion but i think this is a big reason alot of dogs jack, due to been entered to early
  16. I think it would have to be the bedlington or collie for me,they would suite me better for my kind of hunting just out of curiosity brock1 why would you use a greyhound dog instead of a greyhound bitch for a first cross cant see how that would work
  17. is there another one of these comps on next season, good luck to all whos left in
  18. imo 9months is a bit young to be chasing that many rabbits,1 or 2 maybe,a would just give it a couple of month off but in mean time give it a couple of dead rabbits to eat just take guts out and keep giving it them to you try it again,am sure itll click in time
  19. Who's nose is getting bigger, how many guns were ya using dont use guns mate thats just to easy and a waste in my eyes,if you get of your arse and get out lamping you never no you might catch somthing, have got abig nose but it aint with lying lol
  20. my records 81 in one night, the old dog ive got now once got 23 out of 25 slips in 1 field, that was a good few year ago probobly cudnt be done now on that ground the dogs used were just bitzas, best worker to best worker, also got 6 out of six hares running doubled up with my mates dog,his dog broke its leg on the 6th hare so had to call it a night, ive had loads 10 in one night my biggest is 14 hares and few rabbitts, also had loads of decent sized mixed bags
  21. your right in what you say but sometimes you take a chance and you get away with it other times you dont
  22. 5mins a rabbit you catch them quicker than that dont you, some places you can do it other places you cant just the way it goes,me personally a would love to do it but the ground i hunt on its impossible now 30/40 is an excellent night
  23. Rabbits are in decline big style now mate. Same with hares.... I reckon it goes around in cycles though but they'll never rise to the levels they were. Too much improved farming methods. too many folk going all year round imo
