    Pet hates.

The running club in my area . The cnuts run in groups on the pavements in built up areas looking like a mobile Blackpool illuminations with lights on anywhere they can fit one and expecting everyone else to move out of their way into the road so they can pass in a big group .
  2. How do they hook them , do they wrap a load of them in a mesh bag and hook the bag or do it another way
  3. Just had the one so far . Had one hit my float 3 times though
  4. Yes , they aren’t too bad especially for the money . The rods are the new Westin 11ft 3.25 ones aswell .
  5. It’s a waste . Are they using the roe as bait
  6. I had an argument with a salmon angler 2 weeks ago who saw me and a mate catch a few pike and said he throw them up the bank if he caught any . It’s not the first time I’ve had run ins with salmon anglers either . That outdated attitude still seems far too common among the game anglers on the ribble
  7. They are the new Westin drop off alarms , pretty much the same as Billy’s backbiters but only £32 instead of £90 . Just tried a Billy’s arm in the alarm and it fits exactly so spare arms are easy to get if needed
  8. Had a few hours on the river with a mate earlier . Ended with 3 chub and 8 barbel between us with the biggest being this half tailed 11.4

Road works with nobody working on them . The main culprits round here is usually a company called cadent who’s specialty is seemingly digging the main entrance/exit routes in to local towns causing absolute chaos for weeks and sometimes longer and then only having the odd person working on them once in a blue moon
  10. Just had 2 double hook ups with the biggest being 11.1
  11. It’s a bit of both . I used to buy them when I was into big lures partly for snob value because they were handmade and not many people had them but also because they are usually made from wood and fish well aswell . Mass produced baits are usually plastic and obviously still catch fish but the difference is custom are usually that bit better made and if for example you buy a suspending lure , it will actually suspend with the weight of a trace and not just sink . Some of my favourite lures were mass produced by musky innovations but they were poorly finished and usually needed to be sealed pro
  12. Have a look at these PB products wide circle . I’ve been using them in size 8 for a while now and they are brilliant . They are strong , stay sharp and the hook up rate even with chub is very good
  13. They merged recently so Vodafone are already off the list when my contracts up , doesn’t leave much me choice though
  14. Couldn’t make calls on mine and the Mrs phones on 3 yesterday afternoon , but that’s nothing new , it went down all day a few weeks back aswell . They’ve got to be the worst network around . I’m paying for an iPhone 16 pro max with unlimited everything and the internet is useless and drops connection constantly no matter where I am and calls regularly cut off aswell .
  15. Ive done ours and also some for my mum in the past on Japanese water stones up to 8000grit and finishing with a few different smoothness strops like I do with my own knives . I warned the Mrs and my mum to be careful because they were stupidly sharp and they both cut themselves when they were washing up and blamed me for making them too sharp so I just leave them to it now and don’t bother doing it anymore
  16. Few hours early this morning for trout and chub on the lures . Had 3 brownies and lost one on a smith d contact and had 2 chub on duo spearhead ryukis . Was a bit bright though , probably would have been better at dusk
  17. I did have a savage gear rod , can’t remember the name and it wasn’t too bad but it wasn’t as good as the hto . Normally I wouldn’t look at a brand like hto but a few people told me to look at the nebulas and then someone I know bought one and let me have a cast with it and I ordered one as soon as I got home . Don’t know what the other rods they do are like but but the nebula is light with a very fast action and for around the 150 mark I can’t think of anything else I’d get instead of it
  18. I’ve sold my bass gear but when I did it I used a 9ft 12-42gm hto nebula . It’s brilliant with a very fast action and threw lures for miles . You read reviews saying the tip snaps but mine was sound and I’d put money on the breakages being user error
  19. I haven’t seen the last couple of seasons because I don’t really watch tv anymore but I liked the ones I did see . It can be a bit far fetched and the odd episode a bit naff but James spader who plays Raymond redington is brilliant and it’s well worth giving a go
  20. The map I’ve got is in surprisingly good condition for its age and it’s the version with unlined rings . I believe they were built on Harrison gti blanks . I’ve never had a one of the normarks and still bring very good money . And everyone who uses them say they are at least equal if not better than anything on the market today . The titan-avenger and microlight are rods I always look for at car boots but still not seen one yet . They’ve just done a re release of the the 3 rods and they say they are as good as the originals but there’s not much info showing the actual rods and it just see
