  3. Bloody hell, a farmer that talks LOL now that's a rarity
  4. Youngsters can always join hunting forums and befriend people who will give them invites on their permission, anyway they should have a choice, playstation360 thingymebob or whatever they are or a bloody ferret locator and collar, or better still sell their games systems and between a few of them they will have enough for a locator, some collars and some nets, SORTED!!!
  5. I'm not a particularly confrontational person, but neglect lights a fire under my arse. His ferret took three days to die, and you think it's defensible that he wouldn't take it to the vet ? Yeah, go you ! OK I have had animals all my life and my man and dad used to have their own pet shop and also quarantine station for importing exotic birds, my dad also used to fly racing pigeons, In my 33 years on this planet I have seen quite possibly thousands of sick animals, from the business side a vet was always called in or from the personal/pets point of view sick animals have always been t
  6. good on you lads, i read this earlier and only just got round to replying, it's making me want to get out even more, am I the only one who hasn't put a ferret to ground yet this season???
  7. You have your opinion, dude, and i have mine. This is the nature of forums. I agree and usually I'm one of the first to offer my opinion, ( I didn't reply and say take it to a vet cos several others had already made their point) but there's offering opinions and there's cyber bullying, easy way out though is for the lad to just not come back to the forum which i'm sure we don't want as i'm pretty sure we're all here to learn and share etc etc
  8. Ah, I see a few others seemed to think the same as me while I was typing this It's easy to criticise from behind a keyboard but I'd like to see who would do it face to face, if you do then good on ya, If not stop being a wimp and hiding behind that keyboard :11: :11: :11:
  9. Can't believe some of the comments and negativity in this thread, yes the lad should of took the ferret to the vets and now that it has passed away he will know that at the very first sign of any illness that's where it should go. After the first person posted take it to the vets there's no need for everyone to jump on the bandwagon and repeat it over and over again.
  10. starting with me, I need about 30 LOL
  11. sell them on here, make them to order
  12. Aye, had a few black rabbits off my permissions, fragile little things they are
  13. I know the exact land you are on about and I have ferreted it loads of times, The railway has been unused for no more than 20 years not 50 lol, Be warned though the keepers from Lambton sometimes get down that way dogging in all the pheasants, If you head along the lines in the direction of cox green there doesn't seem to be much there but if you head down from the co-op and turn left following the lines along towards bournmoor theres a canny few good sets just before you get to the rookery on the right hand side again be warned though if you head toward bournmoor you're getting closer and clo
  14. Bad news that but again i'm with the above posts get a locator and collar, did you make any effort to block holes up so you can go back next day and see if he's there? did you speak to landowner to see if he can keep an eye open for it and let you know if he does, do you know anybody who has a ferret with a locator and collar that can go back with you and put the ferret down as it will probably go straight to the other ferret and it's kill so you will be able to dig it out????
  15. have a read of this what I posted a few years back http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/79422-whats-the-wierdest-thing/
  16. Honestly, to this day we don't know how it got there or why it was there! Glad I wasn't alone or nobody would ever believe me.

  18. Not a lover of boots, I much prefer my Le Chameau neoprene wellies
  19. I think with the climate the way it has been the last few years rabbits are having to do everything they can to survive, I bet that in a few years time rabbits will be breeding all year round and ferreting will be extra hard...
