  18. How can stainless steel be cheaper if you have already got the fiberglass ones? What set up is your 100yds (quickest) How long are your fiber poles and how many.P1 My baskets are made from 8mm mild steel, nets are typically 100 yards 4z with 21 poles. each pole is 35 inches. stainless tube is quite cheap you'd be surprised. the problem i can see with them is if used at night then they would make too much noise when setting out. I can see that you will have a few problems with your set up mate I'm sure you will let me know if I'm wrong. 15mm post a bit thick (11/12mm would be be
  19. only ever had a problem once, a couple walking thier dog on a sunday morning stopped and asked what we were doing, we were digging down when the ferret had backed one up. all we got was a gob full about being barbaric and cruelty to wild animals. they wasnt interestd in the half munched crops that stratched 20 yards into the field all the way up the hedge row or how much money they cost the landowner each year. they soon changed their attitude when i asked if they had permission to be walking a dog on his land
  20. i was looking at some stainless tube today was 12mm with a wall diameter of 1.64mm very strong and light as hell i was very surprised. the shiny finish was a concern i must admit. how many could that guy you bought your poles from supply? are the solid or tube? ATB REDEYE

  22. i use 15mm solid fibreglass poles for all my longnets, on a 100 yarder a few guys i go out with have said it gets quite heavy so i am now looking at buying stainless steel tube then welding a solid stainless spike into the bottom. whats everyones thoughts?? my poles are almost £4 each now, i know the stainless will be alot cheaper.
  23. i agree P1 mate, 50 yard is the smallest nets i use, 4z with a selvage mesh added
