  1. Birmingham Gun Barrel Proof house will do research for you on gun maker, I think http://www.gunproof.com/Price_List/price_list.html Looks like it would cost you £10 for openers
  2. Where were they then ? Looks like an interesting collection
  3. could you run a poll ? few limited options and everyone gets one vote
  4. Sounds like it had caught something and the fox has had it out. We often find rabbit cages yards away from where they were set after the fox had pushed them to somewhere solid so the door can be pushed open. The feathers were probably from the bird flapping about when the fox first turned up.
  5. You know Moley I think you might have something there. For some reason it just popped into my head that a key issue here is water. I am quite sure that a cat could last several days in a trap without food, but water ? I'm not so sure. I know cats are descended from desert animals and so are adapted to conserve fluids but even so .......
  6. Completely agree MC I have some cage traps out at the moment for rabbits, in the grounds of a large house converted to flats. I know there are cats about so I'm checking the twice daily - once before anyone gets up
  7. You see this is just typical isn't; I put a post on here moaning and then went out this afternoon and did this right under the ear
  8. I'm primarily a shotgun shooter and have had bought guns that 'fit' or had them fitted so that I mount them consistently and get the same sight picture every time. Since transferring to rifles with telescopic I find that I don't always get my face in the same place and so my aim if off - sometimes quite badly to one side. I know what's causing it - if my face is too far up the stock it moves me out of line to the left and so I'm looking through the scope at a slight left-right angle. How do you guys get a consistent head-stock position ?
  9. Mice would get through that mesh without breaking stride.
  10. Just the fly fishing one left - reduced to £9 ...............
  11. Even that can be done under license . The bird control units at all major airfields use recorded bird distress calls in their work, to disperse problem birds from the airlanes. OTC I think that may be different though - the use of call recordings to disperse animals is not the same as using records to attract them in and kill or take them.
  12. Cracking fish mate - new lucky jumper now then eh ?
  13. I refer the honourable gentleman to the answer I gave some moments ago http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...18entry224418
  14. You could always use live catch traps in the woods. Then you could release any accidental catches. However if you do you must check them regularly - it's the law as well as a moral obligation. It's particularly important if you might have caught reds as squirrels don't seem to last long once caught.

    EBAY

well report it then - it clearly states that is had 'disturbing content'. Must fall foul of something.
  16. Shooting over decoys is your best bet Fletcher - just ask and I am sure you'd get lots of help
  17. Use of live decoys is banned under the Wildlife and Countryside Act, and then 'allowed' under certain special circumstances Part 1, Section 5 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (1) Subject to the provisions of this Part, if any person— (a,b,c).... (d) uses as a decoy, for the purpose of killing or taking any wild bird, any sound recording or any live bird or other animal whatever which is tethered, or which is secured by means of braces or other similar appliances, or which is blind, maimed or injured; . . . (...) he shall be guilty of an offence.
  18. RRP £12.99 you can have it for £10 including P&P.

    EBAY

I've just had two listings removed too. I believe the way it works is that other users 'report' things and the ebay staff don't look at them properly - just wait and see if you moan. I'm fighting it - so we'll see. If I win my argument I want whoever reported me to get a warning.
  20. Just had a response from Channel 4 Viewer Enquiries. DEATH OF A FOX is scheduled to be aired 16/04/2007 on Channel 4 at 21:00. Although interestingly, now that I can find it in the schedule, it's been renamed 'Meet the foxes' ......
  21. I'm after one too, if anyone else is selling one.
  22. Go to here http://www.channel4sales.com/programming/c4/seasonal and view the highlights video, top right. Be patient, the trailer is in there. Atleast they show the dead chickens.
  23. Just seen a trailer for this on Channel 4. Doesn't look terribly balance based on that snippet. This is the offical blurb - I'll try and find out when it's on. More and more foxes are leaving the countryside for the bright lights of the city. Should the townies copy their country cousins and bring a new blood sport to the city's mean streets? Part wildlife film and part social documentary, Death of a Fox offers a fresh perspective on the clash between nature and the increasingly urbanised UK.
