  2. my current lack of power is due to a perished O ring but once thats replaced i was wondering if you can adjust the gas flow etc to up the power?
  3. it is the rifle version s ocan go legally to 12ftlb if anything i would extend the barrel for more power is there a way to warm up the gas?
  4. for that money you should get a good springer my advice would be find only a few more quid and get a lightning xl and have or DIY the gas ram conversion. awesome gun with everlasting power once youve got the gas ram rob
  5. has anyone ever changed the o ring on the bolt andif so how difficult is it / where did you get the ring? can you get a silencer which actually silences as opposed to the redtip piece of crap? is there an easy way to up the power to around 10/11 ftlb ? thanks rob
  6. cheers i heard of covering rat fenns in bacon/ fryup fat but i thought this would be counterintuative for rabbits
  7. the way i have attached the string means that the whole tealler would have to be pulled back through that double part for it to come off and that would take an elephant and that cord is real strong nylon which can hold my weight and i have a mile spool of it (god knows where from) cheers OTC i will set him out when the frost lifts and see how i get on
  8. that snare is tensioned but i think i have missed a trick on the pear shape how much of a pear shape? do you have a picture? i think i got it this flicks back much faster

  10. cheers guys but isnt speeddip only available in the US and due to such a small number of traps i dont want to fork out to much is there some kind of DIY way????
  11. heres some pics i took of a 4strand a made earlier with a eyelet from a kinked p old snare and some brass wire i found on a straight tealler i also made earlier. 5 1/2" by 7 1/2" loop rob
  12. these are some pics of the setup in the compost heap this is my normal setup it is not set on a run as there is not one they go everywhere as it is always covered by an old conservatory door. rob i think they are the right pics lol
  13. i have a couple of spring traps and they are stored hung outside so as not to make them smell, but my solway feeders bodygrip 116 is getting a layer of rust on it especially on the trigger machanism. will this affect the working and is there any way of preventing it . stuill on the bodygrip subject is there a better safety catch that can be added as even with the safety on if it goes off it gives you a nasty wrap across the knuckles. rob
  14. how many turns would be best for a standard 22.5 inch 6 strand snare, from my reading up approx 70 is good, any better offfers??? and what is the best way to hold the other end of the wire (the one without the eyelet) i have a couple of ideas, the most basic being holding it with pliers. any help greatly appeciated thanks rob

  17. yip , the frost will kind of burn the grass , you will see bodygrips are best used in cover or under fences , you can put them on a run but they require a tunnel of wire or wood and its not the best way ,try setting them in the burrow mouth , again , not the best method but they do catch i only have the oe bg 116 so i will give him a go with a wire tunnel leading up where would be the best place to purschase a small number 2 or 3 fenns or springers 4s and 6s springer 4s are brilliant in my eyes i have never had a problem cant comment on the 6s though thanks rob
  18. i think i could make wires pretty easy but the wire and eyelts seemed quite expensive Geordie makes good snares as does Woodga. Once you have had a rabbit in them they are well battered, yet still catch another 7 or 8 before they're done, so as long as they are six strand and spun reasonably tightly, they're all ok PS for £60 or so you could have enough gear for a lifetime. i have wire for tealers already but i have bitten the proverbial bullet and forked out £24 of my xmas coinage to get enough wire and eyes for 100 snares and i know i can spin them from experience messing around

  20. i have had some sample snares from both geordie (breakaways) and holdaway and very good they were too but i was wondering from others experience who mkes the best (not wanting to start a battle of the greats here) and what would be the cost of 50 straight 22.5 inch pro bunny snares with or without tealers as i can make them easy enough unless the effort outweighs the cost. cheers guys and no arguments please lol rob
  21. i have only got the one mk4 and i noticed a hlaf eaten apple with rat teeth marks lastnight in the orchard so i placed it down in the tunnen with some apple shaved over the top with my knife and i got a second rat this morning caught perfect by the head. noticed some holes in the compost heap so its set in one of the compartments (about 6'x4') and a poison hopper in the other compartment bloddy rats
  22. my mum was teriified of me getting an air rifleand traps etc but now a steady supply of rabbits in the freezer has shut her up
  23. its not often you hear of girls ourage hunting especially not the hot ones. your a rare breed :)

  24. there are some frosts on the ay , you should be able to see the runs again once he frost has gone will the frost "burn" the runs into the grass? but dont the bunies stay close to the burrows when its frrosty? and unfortunately a lot of the burrows are in the field so there are no fence crossingzs only tram, pled burrows. How would you go about using a body grip close to a burrow???? Sorry for all the questions i'm still learning
  25. i was wondering if anyone has any advice for me; most of the fields on my permission have recently had cows on them becoase of the wet the farmer was rotating the fields however this means that all of the rabbit runs are churned up along with the rest of the ground and i can;t see them, the bunnies are there but i don't know where they are running. does anyone have any ideas or is it just a case of waiting a month or two for the ground to recover because i would like a rabbit pie for new year Thanks rob
