    no i don't let mine chase bunnys , rats if i find them yes , and the nice cool shade of the kennell is better than bushing for them this time of year ...ever heard of rest for both dogs and quarry in the spring and summer ..or baby bunnys more fun :11: :11: :11:

    There is more to hunting then digging fox day in day out if people want do ratting and rabbiting and other things and flushing with there dogs why is that boring.....why have alot of the older people got problems with this sort of hunting, The older generation should be incouraging the younger generation to hunt no matter what the prey is but keeping it in the hunting law. I bet people like pickaxe, i bet there dogs dont work cover and flush things out the bushes, that to me doesnt sound a 100% hunting dog it might be a 100% fox dog my own choice i would rather have a 100% hunting dog that w

    i have to be honest this thread has produced some very good information, and some of the biggest pile of shit as well...only by spending time with your pups and knowing, how there parents work and more, i remember a great post/quote more or less by D .Harcombe,, the black (patt ) often ends up with people who bask in the early success of there pups only to be slagging off the dog/line a few months later because they over matched the dog, The dog failed because of these people a terrier of any breed is still a pup at 2 years sometimes more, this does not mean it will not go, I've had 4-6 mon

    I start mine about 14 months, work maybe once a month or less if there getting bitten, more if there bayers.. 2nd season should be the test not the 1st one , well with patterdales IMO

    a good friend of mine had cowen bred stuff , still has a old blind dog of about 15 , i had a terrier off him good nose but way to hard , but i think the question is does any one on this forum work one ??
