Tim!! I don't have a cage to rattle and as I've said many times before I don't have a problem with Plummer Terriers or their owners. despite the misconceptions you obviously hold about me?? I can and do appriciate all working breeds or types and am not prone to kennel blindness, and think that one breed or type is above all others. I'm a working and hunting dog enthusiast , who does'nt differentiate, full stop!!!!!!!!!! Tom

Tim!! remember who said this?? when I asked some questions about the breed founder, (flame threads, Dec 8 2005) quote: "sick to the backteeth of things Plummer related being gone over and over again", signed Tim, :end quote. Well you certainly went over a few things here :11: :11: :11: Tom Ps: as long as your dogs do!!! what you!!! the owner wants?? the breed or type is immaterial to anyone else?? unless they want a pup off your lines Tom

I think the easiest answer to that, is ask a Lurcher :11: :11: Tom

In my opinion!! for what its worth, and its probably worth feck all to some folk?? and a majority may disagree. I feel that the honest, everyday, Lurcher and Terrier man , especially here in Scotland, where a ban first took place, may?? have to take some responsibility ourselves (not all) for a ban, We capitulated and appeased with the Countryside Alliance!!!!!! in the support of fighting against a ban. At first the emphasis was on fighting a ban on all working dogs that hunt, When the CA got our support and numbers, especially at the countryside marches in London, Edinburgh etc, the CA move

The haggis hunting was a load of crap :realmad: Anyone who hunts the haggis on a regular basis!! knows that you need stealth and cunning as well as fieldcraft and there are set times of day for hunting the Haggi, usually when the pup shuts The reason for dressing up Shug Feartie Whiskystill (Hugh Fearnley-Whitingstall) is because he's a Southern Prat :11: "its not like me to be involved in controvesy?) :11: :11: Tom Ps; Charlie back me up here :friends: :11: :11: :11: :11:

Charlie You've summed the man up to a tee I have all his books, He alway's gives an accurate view and descriptive account of his life and interests. His early works are the most interesting, with accounts of bull terrier's, flapping tracks, whippet racing ratting and ferreting as a boy. He loved Lurchers, but also kept GSP's Tom

In the last fortnight I have had telephone call's from people, asking for advice and the Tel no: of a good fieldsports lawyer?? Two cases have involved working dogs. The first case involves the accidental killing of a cat by Lurchers, the second is trumped up charge's relating to the disturbing of a badger sett. For obvious reason's I don't want to go into too much detail!!!!!!!! Both dog owners are not members of any fieldsports organisation and therefore are not entitled to advice or help from any of them!!!!!! I pointed both owners in the direction of Ian Clark " Director for THE SCOTTISH

As some of you know I collect badges, that have a fieldsports connection? and this request should probably be in the classified section, but there may be more browsers here? In 1995 The Countrymans Weekly were advertising red & gold enamel badge for sale with the slogan eg: "THE COUNTRYMAN'S WEEKLY VOICE OF THE SPORT" Does anyone have one they would be willing to sell?? if so give me a Pm, fingers crossed Cheers Tom

When you say our local pack are you referring to the L&R hunt????? because if you are! its the first I've heard of an attitude change :11: I'll also ask the same question as Corkonian why in your opinion is every fox dug in secrecy when digging is legal?????? could you also shed some light on who we are being dictated to by?? Ps: I'm not suggesting every hunt is anti Lurcher and Terrier men I'm relating my experience of one of the hunts I've dealt with THE LANARKSHIRE AND RENFREWSHIRE FOXHOUNDS, for them there is a division of them and us :realmad: Tom

plummer terriers owners
Foxgun Tom replied to rob reynolds uk's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Could we also have an exclusive page for : Russel X White German Sheperds X Beagles X Cavalier King Charles Spaniels as Mr Plummer worked tirelessly with all these breeds, as often described in his articles in earlier editions the Countrymans's Weekly Tom :11: :11: :11: :11: -
Totally agree I worked JR Terriers for 20 years, and was also a gun for the L&R Hunt and when I attended the meeting I mentioned earlier, my services as a gun were dispensed with, because I had a forum on www.thelanarkshireandrenfrewshirehunt.com which included comments from Lurcher and Terrrier men, and the Hunt commitee were horrified that these type of people (of which I'm one) could make comments about hunting in general on a website that could be associated with them??????. I attended that meeting with the sole purpose of handing the website over to the hunt!!!!! But, when they dis

Glad you enjoyed your day your right when you say there are a some nice people at the meets and I'm sure you'l enjoy many more days out with the L&R. On the downside its a pity that the commitee of the L&R stated at a private meeting I attended!! "that they did not want to be associated with Lurcher and Terrier men" and described them as "that sort of person" a member of the commitee, who was there!! is a representative of the FMWTC and declined to comment on that quote, as he is also a master of the hunt, It seems for some people the wearing of a red jacket is more of a status symb

Foxgun Tom replied to rob reynolds uk's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
CC the rason that he made a section for the plummer stuff was that there was certain 1s hijaking the threads all the time and it just got stupid! but then it started to get real personal and something had to be done about it! thats why the e-mail was sent out to everyone! and FGT you didnt get banned you asked to have your membership removed after a post that saluky put up! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your spot on , I did ask to be removed from EDRD.com, where I was a Moderator!! but the Webby on there was the Webby on the Plummer site at the same time and thats where I w -

plummer terriers owners
Foxgun Tom replied to rob reynolds uk's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
It show's that some individuals can't take criticism or won't acknowledge a difference of opinion regarding a breed or type of dog????? and that the EDRD webby may be a Plummerphile and no opinion! but his matters. My view is the if you have an opinion let it be known Tom -

Foxgun Tom replied to rob reynolds uk's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Outwith the banter!!!!!! There's absoloutely nothing wrong with a dog or breed of dog , that does what its owner wants and works it on the owners preferred quarry??. I personally think the whole E-mail thing is indicitive of EDRD's tw@t of a Webby?? (see flame threads, banned from other forums) on this forum :11: :11: :11: Tom -
