  1. An experienced person finds it easy, whin, but to someone just starting out and wanting to learn, a little help is usually better than any ammount of ridicule.
  2. Some very true words. :cray:
  3. Not perfect but should be good enough to see the difference
  4. Judging by some of the claims made on here, it won't be long before someone contradicts that statement! :whistling:
  5. I haven't watched it but my opinion on this sort of thing has always been that any death, especially an untimely one, is always a serious matter, and when being reported on the news, the reporter should never forget that person will have been a loved one of someone who may be watching/listening. It's easy to make or laugh at jokes about people you don't know, but it should be remembered that those jokes can and do hurt and offend. A little sensitivity doesn't go amiss at times like that.
  6. Good on you for wanting to learn, and for not taking too much notice of the remarks, after all they're mostly just banter, and not meant in a bad way. One word of advice though, if you do go ratting, don't take your mate, f**k knows what kind of 'Rats' he'll have your Dog tackling!
  7. Looks like a Field Voles nest has been in there. Through the Summer months they often build nests (about cricket ball size or slightly larger), above ground, especially in dense grass like that. These become more visible as the grass dies back. Foxes and badgers (and people) often pull the nest out, leaving a void like in the pic.
  8. I was having trouble logging on last night so I've missed some the comments that've been removed, but I can probably guess as to their general content. I'm not alone in gaining enjoyment from reading most of the sections on here, and there's nothing wrong with people disagreeing on some points, but it's really annoying when you're reading through a good topic, and every few posts you come to the same old one liners from those who for whatever reasons don't partake in that particular branch of fieldsports. It's just like being constantly interupted while you're in the middle of reading a go
  9. Yes it's a Starling. It's a wild bird, and that's the clearest of a series of pics which were taken through a window. Even though I'm sure it knew it was being watched, the bird wasn't bothered at all.
  10. Should've tried the Kitten distress call.... You'd have had them coming at you from all angles
  11. Maybe their kids are getting this for Xmas Seriously though, the media just always have to sensationalise everything. FFS they should just realise that's what Foxes do..... Kill and eat anything they can get.
  12. A pocket calendar OF your nan as a 17 year old lad? That's wrong on more than one level! Thank f**k that was a typing mistake. A calendar of your pre sex change 'Nan', would be enough to send anyone loopy!
  13. Buzzard Sparrowhawk Come on, there must be some more takers?
  14. I think it's a Turkish breed, akbash is how I think it's spelled. If I'm right then yes it is a breed that guards flocks. Just googled it and come up with this familiar pic! : Akbash Shepherd. Akbash?......funny f*****g name for a polar bear....!!.. Perhaps it's a Pakistani Polar Bear! And you're just jealous 'cos your new Pandas aren't as hard as it is What, just cause they've got black eyes you think they cant fight?..... I know they can fight all right......... I've seen one fighting

  16. You have style and good taste kenny To be honest when I asked for the tsantsa my mum did actually say "She would see what she could do,but no promises".....................I am still waiting to this day :cray:I tired of my bukaroo quite quickly and he ended his days shot full of pellet holes at the end of the back-garden alongside an action-man and the Lone-Ranger A lot of my toys were used as target practice too, especially the German soldiers. There's a shrunken head in one of the local museums, and it's always interested me, but I've had to make do with a collection of different anim
