  1. Yeah i know. lol cant get to vets till tomorrow night though. Any idea on roughly how much its likely to cost?
  2. Hi everyone. my polecat jill and albino jill are both coming into season and i will be mating them with a mates vasec hob in a week or 2 but the polecat has a light green discharge coming out of, well you know where. i was wondering what this is and is it a problem? cheers. Jake
  3. supprised me that he had a Deben mk3 terrior finder sad thing is if that was in the uk they would have every bunny hugger in the city going mental and campaigning about it. still good to watch.
  4. Ok cheers mate. how many bags is a ton? I know a bag is 25KG but how many KG goes into a ton?
  5. assuming you are talking about wheat? Either wheat or pellet. depends on whats cheapest and more easily available.
  6. hi all. I am doing a pheasant shoot with wild birds on my permish this season and was wondering roughly how much i should expect to be paying per sack for feed?
  7. no way am i offering them beating, we cant afford to pay them and we dont wanna give them birds. Plus I am only 15 at the mo and the other lads running the shoot with me are the same age as me so they ent gunna listen to us are they. they will just go over whenever they want and they will scare the birds away and we rely on wild stock. we have worked out from the average count of birds each night that we will only get about 40% of whats already there which on this ammount of land isnt alot. we only have 100 acres to work with and cant plant cover crop and its pasture. We have already persuaded
  8. They arent in a release pen, they are wild birds which we are feeding and watering and i have spoken to the keeper on the shoot they are straying from and he said as long as when we run the shoot day we beat our main drive back towards his shoot as far as he is concerned they belong to us as they are on my permission. If i see them doing anything like that again i will talk to them but they are the type to kick off big time and are too thick to take any notice and will just keep doing it if something isnt done. BTW you may remember in the news a few years ago about a boy who drowned d
  9. I dont actually know but i would like to find out.
  10. hi everyone. Bloody annoyed today and struggled to contain my anger as when i was walking round my permission (myself and some friends are doing a wild pheasant shoot this season for the landowners as i am leaving to go to college this year) well i walked down to the small woods with the dog and was on the footpath and i looked just inside the woods and see two little scrotes bashing the f**k out of a cock pheasasnt with sticks. the little c**ts saw me and ran off letting the pheasant fly off i can f*****g tell you if i was closer to them i wouldnt have been able to keep my anger in and
  11. was looking at balls of steel on youtube and found one with the pain men. first he puts his fingers in a gin trap then the other guy licks a mousetrap. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uiYHQO1Ndw&feature=related
  12. Not reall just the fact that it helpes to have a driving licence, FAC etc and be sensible and mature enough for the job but i would think most lads straight out of college get underkeeping jobs first.
  13. Sensible keepers buy poults in and save all that time and just focus most of the time in fixing up/building pens, doing drinkers and feeders etc. and also alot of the keepers round here use that spare time to do a bit of pigeon shooting as well as fox control.
  14. thats why i wanted to watch it again
  15. As stated in original post do what I did and what many of the other kids doing the course i am starting in september did. go beating, offer help as much as possible, dont be frightened to be told off a few times ( i dropped a feeder down a fooking huge cliff in our big wood) and if you are not enthusiastic and are 100% certain gamekeeping is the life for you then by all means go to college but as already stated do forestry and land managment aswell ( im doing first diploma in game and wildlife and then a forestry course) and will also be keepping my eyes and ears open for any either evenin
  16. Thats the one. i was just about to put the link on.

  19. hi all. i watched a ducumenatry years ago (before i really got into shooting hunting etc) anyway it was about a hunt and they followed a member of the hunt/hunt worker doing rounds to local farms slaughtering old/sick/injured/unprofitable animals to feed the hounds. Now i have been trying to find it online for ages now so if anyone could send me a link or tell me where to find it i would appriciate it. Thanks. Jake
  20. i am not working my albino when shes in season(she is at the moment) but thats mainly because i have finished ferreting around here but if i get some more permission with a few more on i might consider it.
  21. i hadnt untill now and i love it. cheers john
  22. hi all. was looking on youtube for a foxhunting song/video to put in some coursework at school and came accross this. 2 of my interests in one, hunting/countryside and irish music.
  23. have done mate. going to my grandparents house tonight to make meself a new hutch and i have taken the ferrets out, burnt the bedding(smouldering in the rain down the garden as i type) and sprayed the whole hutch icase i dont get this one finished tonight.
  24. Thanks mate. i thaught so but just wanted to check. i need a new hutch. i had laminate/flastic floor wood stuff (whatever you call it) on the floor and slightly up each corner of the inside and i took that up to spray and the fooking base is rotten to shit so dad will be raiding the skip at work for big enough offcuts to make it.
