  1. one of our permissions is 20 acres of flat grassland, really easy to walk round, when we go there we take a wheelbarrow in the van,can get rabbits ferrets, netbag and spade on it..
  2. i prefer to use a priest, they can be dispatched immediately(still in the net),also they bleed from the nose and don,t bruise..
  3. i use a welding glove on the holding hand and stroke them with the other,it doesn,t take long for them to realize that being handled is a nice experience, after 3 or 4 sessions you should be able to do away with the glove...
  4. LOL ,[bANNED TEXT] a team of feckin lunatics.....
  5. good day mate, did you have many lie ups..
  6. i think we would all prefer to go when the weather turns colder but a lot of landowners want em off all year round,in a perfect world i start at the begining of october...

  8. i went to micks place last year and bought some of these and i think there great, they do seem to purse a lot smoother..
  9. here here, this site is fantastic but it,s being spoiled by idiots with a my dad can fight your dad mentality, good luck with the sale mate, and general dealer,if you ant got something constructive to say just do one, your pathetic little put downs aren,t wanted on here...
  10. we went out yesteray and caught 8,couldn,t believe how quiet it was ,very dissapointing.on this permission we were getting this many in the first hour, the weather has certainly taken its toll.
  11. yep i agree,if the draw cords tight it purses as soon as the rabbit hits it.

  17. yeh,i prefer spun poly it,s a lot easier to work with out in the field.
  18. it,s usually when the cows have calves around and it,s actually the dogs they see as a threat ,but i must confess ,cows n horses do shit me a bit.
  19. get well soon buddy, all the best
  20. went on our first ferreting foray of the season yesterday, very surprised how few young there was about, anyway we had 24 in the bag by lunch time(only one youngen) then called it a day.on the way back to the motor the neighbouring farmer pulled us and asked us if we could start working his 700 acres aswell,i suppose so says i,,it,s a tough old life,,cheers.
  21. went to the east coast earlier this month and there wer rabbits everywhere, saw dozens of warrens all set into the sand banks.just wondered if anybody has worked this type of land, though it would obviously be easy digging i would think it would be fraught with hazards.
  22. personally i wouldn,t pay for a days ferreting, but i suppose thats easy to say when youve got your own permission, just think back when we had none we may have had thought differently, obviously the guy thinks hes seen a gap in the market...
  23. understand what your saying mate, but the thing is 90% of people on here wouldn,t choose to ferret in spring/summer,it,s a pain in the arse, but as i,ve said before,it isn,t our call to make. if the farmer says he wants you on there ,then you have to go,sport for us is pest control for him. you have to show willing or you end up loosing your permission.just use your head and only take what you need to keep the farmer smiling....
  24. just be interested to know if anyone has purpose bred terrier lurcher crosses, using terriers other than bedlingtons. ie lakeys/pats etc..
